My key is getting stuck in the ignition. When I go to turn it off it says move parking selector to park. I can turn the key like im going to start and turn it back and it comes out but its beginning to get super annoying. It was doing it every now and then and now its every time. Any ideas? I guess it is possible that it is the park switch... However being able to turn the key on and off and then remove it makes me think it might be the ignition itself or something else. The shift lever seems to be firmly in park and turning the car back on and shifting gears then turning it back off doesn't seem to help. The only trick I have found is turning it back on (not starting) and then off and it will come out. Sometimes I have to do that more than once to get it out. I would have guessed the switch was bad if it didnt give me the park message. I know some vehicles use a cable from the transmission to the ignition for the park interlock but I imagine the Porsche is a electronic one.

I took the console apart today and didn't see any magnets ( the other poster was having issues with his paddle shifters not working right I believe too and mine work fine). There is a small switch in the front that might be the culprit. Key came out about 4 times first try after I took it apart until I drove it about 20 miles and it was back to sticking. It correctly shows gear position including P in the info center. I think the computer must look at separate inputs for indicated P in the info center and releasing the key. Still no idea why turning the key back on then off releases it.
