Keyfob Battery Replacement

Hello. I recently purchased a '99 Boxster, and I've been doing all the research I can. I have a keyfob that unlocks the doors and the trunk. I keep seeing posts about codes needed. Do I need to go to a Porsche dealership if I just need to replace the battery? The nearest dealership is 200 miles away. Thanks in advance.

No trip to dealer should be necessary. I replaced the battery in my key fob last year following the intructions in the owners manual. Pry off the cover, R&R the CR2032 battery observing polarity, put cover back on. Good to go.

Thanks for that. I know that may have looked like a stupid question, but I've discovered there's rarely anything easy when dealing with Porsche. Thanks again.
