Hi,

I am new to this site but from reading as a non member there seems to be awesome info on here. I am struggling to understand the setup of my audio system in my 2009 Cayman.

I have a CDR24 Head Unit but I am unable to find any amplifier in the car. I have looked inside the front storage compartment where the tyre tools are but to no avail. I have had a look around the car and have found speaker grills in the doors, on the rear shelf and on the front dash. The sound from my unit is terrible and I'm desperate to upgrade the Head End to a Nav, iPod and Blutooth system (seen quite a few suggestions on this forum).

Can anybody please tell me if it is possible my CDR24 has no amplifier installed and if this makes it easy to upgrade my system to a new mulit function head end with amplifier?

Any help would be extremely appreciated as I'm going around in circles trying to work out what i need to upgrade my system.

Cheers,

theophi

I have a 2007 Cayman Base with CDR 24 radio which has very poor reception.  The suspected culprit is the antenna booster located on the passenger side A pillar under the plastic trim piece.

The female plug (see image) does not have a wire running to it.  The male plug has a constant supply of 12 volts.  I suspect that the booster burned out but the empty plug has me wondering.

Anyone familiar with this booster wiring to know one way or the other?

      Thanks,

      JC
