Interior Dash kits

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have been on the site all day, trying to put together the instructions on doing the aluminum interior kit myself. Cannot seem to find the cluster surround removal instructions.

I think overall my problem points in doing it myself will be the door pulls and the lids on the door. Any additonal input on this would be great, that and of course the removal of the gauge cluster surround instructions.

THanks

The door lid covers and handles are simple (except for that darn pin that holds the lid cover to the door and that last screw that takes a ton of patience). Do a search under the DIY section threads for the instructions. That is where I got mine.

As for the cluster surround I can't help out on that.

Yes. Both the bin covers and the door pulls. The door pulls are very simple you just have to be careful with them since the tabs that hold them in place break very easily.....ask me how I know :(

Bummer, Im really considering doing it myself. I was thinking of having my father painting them, (he does boy work) I cant believe what they get for them from the dealer.

Is your father own a bodyshop or a paint expert? If not, I would stay way clear of that route. While you can paint some smaller bits yourself, nothing will turn out like the factory look which Eric (bumperplugs) does just as well if not better. Remember you are paying for quality AND name. You can save a few bucks with somebody like Eric if you can live without the "genuine" part.

To remove the cluster surround etc.... Pull out your emergency switch and to the left side pull out that little plastic "round" screen. Inside of each you'll find a screw which will release the entire piece as one... Once you unplug everything you can then tear it down without any problems.

I'll probably do a complete tear down of my dash pretty soon..... (1-2 months) I'll take some photos when I do to help others out.....
