2007 "system fault headlamp" error

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just bought a 2007 Cayenne Turbo UK spec, everything is as it should be, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'm getting one small problem, and that is that there is the above error when I turn on the ignition. I've disconnected and reconnected the battery, no change.

I've checked all the fuses, all ok. I've removed both headlights and reinstalled. The height adjustment seems to work, it does the self check and they move and set, then there is a twitch horizontally as presumably the dynamic cornering lights try to move, maybe they are working, I can't tell, or maybe that's the problem? Does anyone have any advice how to diagnose this error?

Otherwise this car drives perfectly, it has xenons, height adjustable suspension etc, very nice car!

Thanks Loren, there are a couple of garages locally who specialise in Porsche (non dealership) and I'm pretty capable with DIY (ive handled a boxster gearbox change to date) so I'll speak to the Indy about if they can diagnose for me and go from there. It's not an MOT issue (annual road safety check) and the lights do their basic job but I like my cars perfect!

Disconnecting the battery isn't a cure on newer vehicles and can often cause issues. As stated you need to have the vehicle scanned for fault codes including all modules to clear the low voltage codes you induced by disconnecting the battery.
