Porsche 997 Cell phone Solution

If you mean the telephone module for the PCM, it's not compatible with your cell phone...It has its own sim card module (there's a drawer underneath the number pad...If yours doesn't have the little draw) I don't think you can add the module. Basically the car has its own cell phone

I didn't order the telephone....it's not bluetooth & frankly is old technology.....I didn't find the fact that the address book can be accessed from the OBC display very compelling. I especially didn't want a new number for my car, and wasn't prepared to swap the card out from the phone to the vehicle everytime I went for a drive.

I had a Motorola BLNC ihf1000 handsfree kit installed last week.....I'm very happy with it.....It seemlessly transfers calls from handset to handsfree and vica versa....it's bluetooth and I believe it's the first kit on the market to offer digit dial...ie you say a number such as 555 1212 and it dials (and you say it all in one go, not 5-5-5 1-2-1-2) The recognition is superb....it hasn't misunderstood a single command yet!!!

It looks pretty slick too

Yes, a US PCM may be "integrated" to a cell phone, even the V710 with bluetooth. The integration means auto mute on phone usage, remote sound through right front speaker and connecting the unused second cabin mic, dedicated for the phone, to the phone kit.

The calls are answered by whatever the handsfree kit supports.

I'm curious...Where did you put the Motorola fob? Did you hide it (I was thinking about in the ashtray) or did you place it on the dash somewhere?

Thanks!

There is some way to get a bluetooth phone to work with United States PCM? Is it the cell phone solution from the factory or is it an aftermarket piece? I want to use a Motorola RAZR or however its spelled.

Go to the TSB section and there is Porsche Cell Solution info on parts, installation instructions and a listing of cradles for various phones. There is also a Bluetooth cradle with no part number. "Turns any base unit into a bluetooth car-kit." I did not check for updates.

To those who are not Contributing Members: TSBs alone are worth the cost of admission! Trust me.

I have the Motorola Bluetooth unit, to the right of the wteering wheel, just to the left of the center console, in the base of the dashboard. Will try to post picture tonight. Looks great and works fabulously. It has a minor integration with the radio, because if someone calls or you call, radio mutes - I think it's installed so radio speakers are used.
