What is this black box?

What is this highlighted box in the front luggage compartment of my 2005 997?  I need to remove the liner/carpet as some brake fluid leaked in a recent brake bleed.   It's needs a good cleaning.   As far as I can tell, I need to remove this box.  I removed the 2 top screws on the bracket but it does not pull out.  The bracket needs to be pushed down somehow or the box detached.

 

 

 

 

I thought I would see if anyone know what this is so I can better research how to get it off.

I believe that is your evaporative canister that captures fuel fumes.

Thanks! I found instructions on removing the Carbon Canister.  It helps when you know the name for something :)
