Help with intake manifold ID, 996 3.4L X51?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, new member here..  I'm a Porsche/ sports car tech down here in SoCal and need some help identifying a few parts.  I have an intake manifold and runners off of a 3.4L, parts are dated 2000, 2001.  The manifolds are aluminum- something I have never seen on a few hundred 996s that I've had come throught the shop and the local dealers could not ID the part numbers for me!!  I have heard of a super rare 3.4L X51 kit that was available in Europe but info is limited.  I'm wondering if anyone on here can possibly clue me in on any other info on these parts, any help is greatly appreciated!

:welcome:

The power kit for the 3.4 wasn't approved for the USA, Canada, Japan and Taiwan.  X51 was a fairly rare option to be specified when new, but I have come across a few cars in the UK with it.  It would appear to be still available, but is a hugely expensive retrofit kit, especially for a 20bhp increase.

The casting numbers you show don't seem to match up exactly with the power kit parts list.  If you would like a copy of the list, and some more info on the kit, drop me a PM with your email address.
