Bose Navi update went wrong ( 2005 carrera c2 )

Recommended Posts

Hi all ,

Regards from foggy Europe :clapping:

I am a proud owner of 1982 SC targa and have recently bought a 2005 carrera c2 . I bought the 997 knowing that Bose amplifier doesn't work. The previous owner have tried to update the navigation software and now all work ok including the PCM but no sound. I reckon the amplifier is bricked. The amplifier ser.number is 997.645.333.04.
I have found some used amplifiers on ebay but am not sure should I buy this version or the newer one 997.645.334.22. or 997.645.334.33. ???
The data on screen says :
SW version 3.0
system software :
target 04113AD1/1104
actual 04113AD1/1104

Amplifier :
target 00017500/3504
actual yyyyyyyy/15151...

Navigation System :
target /
actual 00174440/1308

PCM :
target 04202LD1/1705
actual 05024AD1/0205

I appreciate your help guys

The 997.645.333.04 and 997.645.333.05 amplifiers were the ones that are bricked by the update, so that is definitely your problem.  The revision history for the Bose amp is:

997.645.333.06

997.645.334.22

997.645.334.32

997.645.334.33

Any one of those will be fine in your car.  If you get the choice, go for the latest one you can.

Just for interest, in case anyone else reads this before doing an update, I made a special update CD for Bose cars with the 04 and 05 amps, so that it does not try to update the amp software during the update process.
