Engine/vehicle vibration

Recommended Posts

I have a 2001 911 996 , it runs great. Ut i have a heavy vibration when i accelerate from 1500rpm and up, on idle there is no vibration and the vibration is so bad the whole car vibrates, its like its transferring from the engine to the chassis from the back all the way to the front. Motor and transmission mounts look good but im getting a new set of motor mounts just in case, does anyone have any ideas?

engine mounts. check your exhaust pipes for differences in height. thatll tell you which one has failed. possibly the transmission mount, but much more likely the engine mount(s). if you see a liquid coming from the mounts, thats a sure indication.

Thank you, i do see a difference in height, i removed the mounts to inspect them and they looked like brand new and it doesnt look like they are fluid filled, the transmission mount looks great, but ive ordered a pair of motor mounts which il replace then go from there, also can the ride heigh be raised with the stock suspension? Looks like my car is lowered and with the bumper i have i cant make it up most places
