Water pump, coolant tube updated?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of changing the water pump on my '04 CTT and am wondering if I will be able to confirm that the prior owner updated to the metal coolant pipes once it is out?  If I was to scope the opening created with the water pump removal, should I see anything that can help me determine if I have the old plastic pipes or the updated metal pipes?
Appreciate the support of the forum!

Thank you for the reply however I am trying to save myself that labor.  I am already doing the water pump and hoping to be able to make my determination without having to continue on to removing the manifold.

If you have a scope then you should be able to view it without even taking off the water pump. I remember changing the pipes and I saw a gap in between the intake manifold and valve cover on the drivers side towards the front where I could have snaked my scope in. I'll go back to it tonight and verify but I'm pretty sure there is a gap.
