Cayenne 955 2006 3.2 V6 Starting problem

Recommended Posts

I'm having a problem when I start my car first time or after it been sitting for more than 10 minutes, doesn't matter if the engine is cold or hot and also a strong smell of petrol/gas comes out of the exhaust.
Car is a Cayenne 955 2006 3.2 V6 Right hand drive.
I removed the fuel pump covers, so I could check for any leak or smell but everything looks fine.

Basically the car is losing fuel pressure on the fuel rails, i've checked the rail pressure valve and if I press it petrol/gas valve just after turning off the car, petrol will spray out, but if I do this 10 minutes after only air is coming out.
Also after this 10 minutes you can hear the fuel returning to the tank, I was lucky getting that as I was installing the covers back when I heard the fuel going back.

I've made some videos to show the problem, any help would be appreciated.

1st start car struggles to start (engine cold or hot doesn't matter), 2nd and 3rd start no problems

Starting after 5 minutes sitting, no problems...

If you leave the car sitting for 10 minutes or more, the problem comes back.

I tried removing the fuses to see if the pumps were the problem:

Removing fuse 13 the car continues to run and Removing fuse 14 the car dies after a few seconds

Car starts and run without fuse 13

Car starts and dies after a few seconds without fuse 14
