Side air vent question

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 C4S coupe and need help on how to change the aluminium slats and control wheel in the plain black side air vents and put them into a set of carbon ones I have just bought from CARNEWAL.

Thanks to the forum I have learnt how to take the vents out of the car but don't want to proceed any further in case I break something!!

Has anyone done this before and are there any issues regards lose fitting and therefore rattling noises if I do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As i recall, the slates are glued or epoxied onto the vent housing. It's not something you can swap out without breaking it. If you want to sell me your black vents w the silver slates, PM me though. These are OEM silver slate vents right? I wouldn't want something spray painted or home made.

The slats are not glued into the housing. There are two long pieces with small nooks where the slats attach into. Pull these out and then You can take the slats out easier. The slats are numbered so You know in which order they go back in. That's they way I did it, might be wrong but worked for me anyhow.

I don't know how the wheel comes out though.
