Have the shock absorvers, springs and complete suspension tested and aligned according to specification of the car type, make sure that the correct tires are in good conditions with the correct pressure. Please leave the bags of gravel where they belong, these jokes worked a little on aVW beetle in 1950.

On the other hand, a 44lb bag of stove pellets in the front drop-in compartment of my 2003 C4$ was a noticeable cornering improvement on curvy mountain roads.  I discovered this while driving home one day with a new box of printer paper in front. Tire wear was not affected at all.  Nor was acceleration or speed.  Note: this was in a C4$.  I had installed a shock tower tie-brace in my 911SC that helped cornering. Never needed that in the C4$.  All that being said, if you are not auto-crossing or doing much driving “full ahead,” why bother?
