996 Electrical Nightmare

I am stumped on this one guys..
-Was driving home, everything working fine then suddenly got a brief airbag light (flicker) and my radio went blank. Car drove fine the remainder of the way home. Now car is blowing fuse e1 as soon as I turn the key and the car won’t start. Doesn’t try to turn over.

- changed ignition switch (still difficult to get key in so possibly a faulty part). Pin 86s is getting 9.xx amps when paired with pin 1 at fuse carrier.
- tried removing the radio harness, still blew the fuse and wouldn’t start.
- all grounds look fine
-clutch switch engages fine
-start/lock relay (#7) in rear relay support was replaced, didn’t help.
-no other fuses are blowing
-battery reads 12.8v

-is this an immobilizer issue? Have a new switch on the way in case the one I installed was faulty.

any help appreciated!
