Airconditioning Computer in Dash

Recommended Posts

In order to remove odors from the AC system I sprayed a product for that purpose in the main AC outlet over the control panel in the dash center. Two minutes after -- all the AC panel lights went out, all functions stopped working. I contacted the dealer after I had checked all 5 fuses related to "AC' and they were fine. He suggested that computer in the AC unit control head panel itself was toast, or it just shut down for some unkown reason. Anyway whether the spray triggered some sensor or not I have no idea but after I shut off the ignition for 1/2 an hour it came back - this happen to anyone else?

Your spray solution probably dripped down into the control head. Most electronic systems will work once they dry out.

The proper place to spray an anti-bacterial solution is into the area, air intake, below the pollen filter. Turn the blower on but not the A/C and have windows down or door open to exhaust the mist laden airflow.

Google for "electronic evaporator dryer" and read that material.

It helps tremendously if you leave the windows down in the garage each and every night.
