interior courtesy lights

Recommended Posts

This is my first ever post on this forum, so please be gentle - LOL

I just purchased my first ever Porsche - a 2000 Boxster S and I love it !

However, I have a few tiny issues with it, and am hoping that somebody here can help me out !

1. The interior courtesy lights do not come on when I open the doors. The lights do come on when the ignition is on, and the light next to the rear view mirror does work, but not without ignition power. Is this a relay problem or something?

2. I can hear a small rattle which appears to be generated from within the drivers door (or just behind it). Is this the rattle that is heard when the roof mechanism needs adjusting?

3. I can hear wind from the passenger side area whilst driving with the roof up and the windows closed - is this a roof adjustment issue?

Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated :)

I have the same problem with the inside lights that you described in item 1, My car is also a 2000 S... Drives me crazy, because my other car is a ranger and there is a problem with the door ajar switch. Nontheless, I haven't had interior lights for about four years. When I bought the boxster I was finally excited to have it and interior lights. What are the ODDS!!!!
