Silver steering wheel emblem

Recommended Posts

"Cosmetic" man here! . Go to Pelican Parts website and buy the small sllver/black/red crest for 45 bucks. Grind off the single stem (make sure you grind it flush). Dry mount it first to see if there is any gold showing around the edges. If so use a little black or silver paint to elimnate. Then use spray adhesive or glue and mount. If you use 2way tape the crest sticks up too much. Sorry, I don't have a pic, but someone is selling them on ebay for much more and they show a pic. Just search on "Porsche 996 silver" ;)

FYI for anyone...

The small silver crest (at least the one I found when I went looking) is in the 928 misc section, part number G-559-210-SLR.

I was also trying to find the small silver crests that Ralphe Boothe uses for his spectacular wheel caps (from 356 hood handle I think) but I had no luck. Although those are metal and might hurt if the airbag was to go off :o

I agree with the look but I would be scared if the airbag ever went off. I believe the crest is seriously attached to the airbag. If you grind it off then glue it on I would worry about it becoming a projectile to the head. Yikes!
