New Porsche sports exhaust system for the Cayman

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Just been talking to Porsche GB, and they tell me that a new sports exhaust system for the Cayman will be delivered for model year 2007 (June / July). No more details at the current time, anybody have any more info?

Regards

William

Apparently it costs about 950 pounds for the parts. 2100 pounds all in fitted. Ideally suited to cars with the sport chrono pack plus which have the sport button on the dash to activate the exhaust baffles. Otherwise the system is automatic and engages with higher rpm.

I am new to the Cayman "game" but that seems like a pretty healthy installation fee -- is that typical for a dealer install?

Full installation of the electronics for the sports exhaust on a 986 takes somewhere on the order of 8 hours. That is the reason most just install the muffler and skip the elaborate electric and vacuum controls. The default position of the muffler without electronic controls is always open -- ie. louder (but just a little bit). I suspect the 987 is similar.
