Hi all,

I am now the proud new owner of a black 2002 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet that I received last Friday. I will post pictures of the car later on as I have been using it and did not take the time to take pictures of it. The car has a lot of options including PCMII with Sat Nav but not the phone module. Would you happen to know if it's possible to purchase and add to the PCM the phone module, appart from doing it at my local Porsche Dealer as it is quite expensive for a phone system.

Thanks,

JC

Yep, it is possible. I was thinking about doing it myself but with the UK ban on handsets I decided that I can make do with the in-dash mic.

Keep your eyes open on Ebay as the handsets crop up regularly.

Thanks, I am already browsing Ebay and keep an eye to see if I can find the phone module that goes in the PCM. With a bit of luck, it should costs a lot less than the Porsche Tequipment pricing of £600.

Which bit is the "phone module"?

Do you mean the seperate handset as I assume with you having PCMII that it comes complete with a SIM slot.

Have you not thought about looking at multiSIM?

I know Vodafone do it, and it might mean a change of tariff, plus an additional monthly charge, but it means you remain legal and it's gotta be way cheaper than buying the phone module.
