Oil Sending Unit

Is unscrewing the oil sending unit hose a bad thing? It is nearly

impossible to get the heater exchange hose through the engine pan

(right of the fan) without moving the o.s.u. hose- however, i feel

this is probably very unwise given it looks as if its never been

touched and is under alot of pressure. There is a build up of grease

along the seals and i am afraid of them cracking because of age. I

also need some sort of metric driver because the hose connects

directly to the engine head- and in an awkward position. Anyone done

this? If this is not feasible, how will i get the hose through the

pan without tearing it? (paper)
