Central Locking Button Flashes for 10s after Locking - Is this Normal?

When I locked my Boxster the other day, I noticed that Central Locking button/switch flashes for about 10s and then goes off. Is this normal? I searched here and reviewed the owner's manual but can't find anything. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I haven't noticed it before and there have been 2 or 3 times lately when my car's unlocked when I could swear I had locked it.

I think it's normal. I just noticed the same thing on my '01 the other day.

Yup, that's what my '99 does. The dashtop LED flashes quickly in unison, then the Locking Button light goes off, and the dashtop LED slows down. I can identify with the paranoia; I disconnected my battery last weekend for a rear speaker install, and I've been freaking out all week trying to remember if everything electrical is acting normally.

I think it's normal. I just noticed the same thing on my '01 the other day.
