oem GT2 wing on C4S - HELP!

Recommended Posts

I have been lurkin on this forum and it's been a lot of help just by doing searches, but I've just hit a brick wall and need help, here goes:

The car is a 2002 Carrera 4S and we're trying to install a 996 GT2 wing. I got the engine bonnet and wing itself, the other hardwares the attaches the wing to the legs are on the way. My question is: can I use the C4S fan on the GT2 engine bonnet, is there a way to retrofit the bonnet so I can have the air duct at the correct side. We haven't taken the C4S bonnet apart just because we want all the information we need before dismantling it.

I hope somebody in here has done this mod. Any help is appreciated.

I am not sure of the internal details re ducting, but have you checked the length front to rear of your stock deck lid vs the GT2 one that you have? I was trying to fit a turbo moveable wing to my 02 C4S and found out that the C4S lid is a different length than the Turbo. Apparently the Turbo lid assembly will fit on to a C4S Cab but not a C4S coupe. I am not sure if this is also true for the GT2 wing and lid.

I must say that I like the shape of the GT2 wing better than the GT3.

i don't think the oem gt2 wing fits the C4S. you have to get the one from www.mashaw.com, email the guy, he has one for the C4s. I'm getting it soon, i'll post pics once it's installed.

Actually, it should fit with a bit of fabricating. Just be sure you have the right front lip tp compensate or you'll have one squirrly ride. At the very least the oem TT lip. Misha makes one that retains your stock lid, only replaces the retractable unit. But the problem with aftermarket wings or mixing and matching oem aero parts is the total lack of any AD testing, maybe not important for street/bling use, but at the track/high speed instability will become a problem. I had the misha gt2 wing with TT lip, switched it out to a oem aerokit.

The OEM aerokit is tha way to go imo. I may be selling mine before too much longer if you're interested.
