    Hi All, I am retro fitting an aftermarket camera into the factory automated pop out on my 2009 Cayenne Turbo S. I have an aftermarket head unit which is the pioneer DMH-WT8600nex. I have successfully integrated it into the Porsche system including the fiber optic and I now have remotely run wires for the new retrofitted pioneer BC-10 camera into the mechanical body. I reconnected the PCM temporarily to re-enable the backup camera pop out and then pulled fuse 55 to reset the system because I couldn't find the setting... I can confirm that it reset and when shifting to reverse the mechanical body did operate but when I reconnected the pioneer head unit everything worked except the mechanical body coming out. I'm hoping that somebody is familiar with the pinouts on the PCM or has a diagram so that I can figure out which pin runs the trigger for the mechanical pop out. TIA! p.s. I have done a preliminary run with a multimeter verifying each lead that I could reach that didn't have power when not in reverse but none had power when shifted into reverse... the only step I can go from here is to get my needle leads out.

    I do not know the cause but there is metal in the oil. I had the IMS bearing replaced 4 years ago but sadly the warrantee has expired. I had a 60k mile check up at a Porsche dealer less than 2K miles ago but they missed it and claim to have no obligation. Sad... Option 1: Replace the engine. $25k to $30 is my best guess Option 2: Sell it as is Thoughts? Advice?

    Porsche use to have a sticker on the inside of the hood which, if I remember correctly had the vin and other identification number for the car & options. Does Porsche put that on anymore - the sticker? My ‘06 had it but not the new 992.2 I just picked up. Tks!

    Without actually seeing the car, it would be pure speculation of what is needed, and caliper studs or bolts, it still has to come apart, but sometimes using studs actually slows down the process because they are simply in the way when the caliper has to come off............

    Thanks. Your good thoughts are echoed and embedded in the local shop's idea - to replace all - rotors, sensors and pads. Interesting that they would like to do both front and rear -- when only the front seem to exhibit low-speed squeal. Now the question is: How long can we live with the functioning system? Appreciate your input, JJ

    Most noise issues are related to how the pads were installed; did they use the correct lubricants and install noise dampeners if so equipped? If the current pads have not been done correctly, just replacing them will typically get you to the exact same place.............
