Hi I am looking for some assistance / advice. I have a UK 2004 Cayenne, occasionally when trying to start the engine will start to crank then stop, the dashboard display goes off and the clock resets to zero. Looks like total power failure. After a couple of hours the car will start. Sometimes I have jump started the car after which it starts and runs fine for a few days. The first time it happened I assumed that the battery failed, I removed it and to replace it, my local the garage checked the battery and declared it ok. I re-installed it and charged it after which it ran for a couple of months nand the issue reappeared. Possibly the battery is at fault, however I don't want to buy a new battery and find that the fault lies elsewhere. So my question would be "what else could cause the a temporary power loss?" I don't have the electrical circuit diagram so don't know what else to look for. I did wonder if it might be the starting motor or solenoid, possibly a bad spot on the flywheel or starter motor bendix. I would appreciate any suggestions. -
Need help, my Cayenne was hesitation while running and shuts off, replaced both fuel pumps and now it won’t start, all fuses and relays are good could it be an ignition fuse or so and need help with fuses identifying I’d saw two locations is there more? -
I've had my Cayenne diesel for about 1 month and have about 1300 miles on it. Two weeks ago, when starting early in the morning (temp in the low 40's), I turned the ignition to "on" position, wait for "coil/glow plug light" to turn off with foot on brake, and turn key to start - nothing. It won't turn over. Then turn key back to "on" position and try to start again. Still nothing. Next, I remove key and try again - this time it starts. Now, every morning the 1st cold start attempt is the same - it won't turn over. Then, when I remove key and try again, it starts every time. I hooked my durametric diagnostic tool to it last night and there were no fault codes. Anyone had same or similar problem? -
2001 Boxster 39,478 miles weekend car only. Boxster will start right up, no puff of smoke, no idel problems. COMPLETELY NORMAL. Drives fine no rattle missfire. Go to store come out. WON'T START.... Crank it once. (ENGINE TURNS NO START).. Crank it again..(ENGINE TURNS NO START) THIRD TIME ( STRUGGLES A LITTLE BIT, BUT STARTS AND RUNS FINE) ..... Go home and park it. Next Sunday ALL OVER AGAIN but this time when I when I get home try to start and it won't start until the 3rd time. Had to go out of town for 2 weeks come back. AGAIN SAME THING. NO CHECK ENGINE CODES, THE WEIRD THING IS THAT IT WILL START RIGHT UP WITH OUT ANY ISSUES THE FIRST TIME AFTER SITTING FOR A WEEK.
