Cockpit water leak

I've found water leaked into the passenger side footwell floor during a downpour yesterday. A friend told me there was a TSB about this. Any ideas what the cure was/is?

Are you sure that it is not the AC condensation drain? ...it is the only drain close to the passenger compartment.

The a/c drain was my first thought and I checked it. I also vacuumed out the front compartment water drains. It happened with the car parked outside work. It also had a lot of water on the door sills when I opened the doors.

On a Boxster we also have 2 water drain tubes under the top. Leaves and other stuff gets back there and plugs the drains and then the area under the top fills up with water, and migrates to the cockpit.

Put your top in the service position as if you were going to remove the engine lid and check to see if the drains are clear.

A misaligned a/c hose will also get the passenger side wet like Loren says. But you said it was wet after a rain. Check the rear drain tubes and report back. Jeff

Sorry about the delayed response but whenever it rained during the day I had my car cover on and guess what, no leaks. I check out the a/c drain line and all looked good. Checked all body drains and vacuumed them out. Yesterday it rained on the way to work so no chance to install the cover. When the work day was over the rain had stopped so I investigated any possible leaks. Well the passenger side floor was soaked! The water seems to be entering either thru to lower door seal under the speaker or thru the door bottom itself because the carpeted panel on the door was also saturated. I also suspect the roof seal and the water follows the windshield frame down to floor. I should also mentioned the car is parked on a slight incline with the front lower than rear (backed-in parking) so water drains to lowest part. Thanks to all for suggestions and I'll keep tracing the source and let everyone know the outcome.

My car is also doing this now. The water is dripping from under the passenger door speaker in to the footwell.

I know the door trim and membrane had been taken off before by the previous owners but it never leaked. Car has just been with OPC for various things and (maybe coincidentally) it has come back with this glaringly obvious leak as it's raining!

What could they have done or to be less accusative, what could have happened??

I would check the drain tubes . I think you should take it to the dealer ASAP . In my case the drains were packed , if the water leaks into the driver side , your car will not start and short ciructe will cause the door lock to brake and that alone cost over 2K to fix.

All I want say is to take it the dealer and make sure you put the cover on it for now
