996 Turbo Alloys Question ....

will 18" 996 Turbo Wheels with 295/30/18 rear & 225/40/18 tyres fit a 1998 996 C2 ???

any pics of these wheels fitted to a C2 would be much appreciated.

The "Turbo Look II" wheels are made in a variety of sizes and offsets. I believe for a C2 you want the 18x10 ET65 rears and fronts 18x8 ET52. I don't think the Turbo sized wheels will work on a C2.

I think the recommended tire for 18x10 is 285

I'm pretty sure you can because you can order SportTechno rims on a C2 and they are 295 on the rear. On 2002+ C2's at least.

Well, despite the fact that the Sport Techno rears are 11" wide, they have an offset of 63 mm to accommodate the narrow body 996. The actual Turbo rear wheel's offset is 45 mm. Not a good fit on the narrow body.

As Viken said...Also, fitting Sport technos to TT and widebosy 996 requires spacers!!

I would say that the Off-set 45 on the Turbo 2 rims is not the problem, the Turbo 2 rims, 11Jx18, have lots of space between the rims to the suspension and the main thing is the tire rubber to the fender arch.

so my garage recommended 285 on the 11J would fit perfect at the rear, so it did.

Thanks for the advice guys.

It looks like the turbo wheels should be ok, I'm negotiating a price with the seller now, so if I get a good deal I might as well buy them.

If the rear turbo alloys have an offset of 45mm, will I need spacers to make them sit correctly ??

If they don't fit then I'm sure a turbo owner would like them as a spare set for the track.

there is no chance with any spacer on the back axel, ET45 rim is narrow enough to almost pop-out to the fender.

but you can fit 15 or 18 mm on the front axel to match the rear rims sticking out.
