Cleaning/clearing Radiators

Recommended Posts

I hope this is not news to anyone on this forum. Today I decided to dissasemble the front bumper and get to clean the radiators...

I was able to clean my radiators without removing the bumper cover. I found a 24"-30" length of thin wall tubing the OD of which would slip between the inlet louvers. I adapted the tube to my wife's vacuum and was able to remove all of the big pieces and 99% of the sand and dirt.

I think the tube was a piece of bath towel hanger rod.

Worked great. give it a try.

Thankyou for your first class instructions that helped me take my bumper off ect...

I done this today which was easy and was amazed what i found...

so many leaves on the rads... a leaking hose and a really bad bent bar. I knew i had problems as my wheel cover was cracked slightly, but i found a drip and a bent bar from an impact that i thought was slight.

Anyways it looks like a jub clip is broke so i will order one from porsche tomorrow along with a new wheel cover and ect...

I suspected something was wrong as the water light was comming on all the time and it turns out its leaking when under pressure due to a damaged jub clip.

heres a few pics below, again great intructions! also it lets you polish and clean areas that cant be reached.
