  1. Although likely possible - probably not practical from a financial point or time and effort. You don't have the wiring in the harness for the relays, switches and control indicator, the wheel sensors, the rate-of-turn sensor, the lateral acceleration sensor, the steering angle sensor, the brake booster pump, the DME program changes, or control module.

  2. If your car is a US/Canada car and you want an official list then you can order a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The cost id about $95 as I recall but they will send you an official statement of what factory options came with the car. Here is a link to download the order form PCNA Certificate of Authenticity

Or, you could look for a sticker under your front (should also be one in the original owners manual) that has a list of codes on it (i.e. 030, 696, etc.etc.). Post those codes here and we can help decipher them.

  3. I am aware of that - of course you can add Porsche parts - that is what we help folks with here. When you said aftermarket I assumed you meant non-Porsche parts. In many cases Porsche prohibits their suppliers from re-selling parts or systems designed for Porsche. There have been a few exceptions but I think your best bet is to try a Porsche parts discounter like Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost link at the top of the page).

  4. Yes, there is a sensor in the engine compartment. Here are the conditions that he fan should come on at.

Switch-on conditions for engine compartment fan

The engine compartment fan is switched on when the engine compartment temperature is > 80 °C

    or

    the coolant temperature is > 102 °C.

    After-running of engine compartment fan

If the ignition is switched off and the engine compartment temperature is more than 60 °C, the DMEcontrol module remains in readiness for another 20 minutes. During this time, the engine compartment temperature is retrieved every 10 seconds. If the engine compartment temperature is > 85 °C, the engine compartment fan is switched on for 20 seconds. If the engine compartment temperature is still> 85 °C after this time, the fan remains on for a further 30 seconds.
