MY99 to MY 01 use the same gear boxes. Only C2 vs. C4 are different.

235 will fit under all conditions that I have seen. Some 245s may rub a little at full lock but will likely be okay too. I assume you are talking stock wheel offsets.
-
The blue and black cables have nothing to do with the shifters "tightness". They adjust the cable throw on the transmission. If you are having trouble getting into a gear move the black cable one notch at at time and then test. As msindni said the Blue cable is for reverse.

Jimmy, I think you have Suncoast Porsche in Florida confused with Sunset Imports in Oregon. Sunset Imports in Oregon sells Porsche factory parts at cost plus a small handling charge. You can find them here

It is part of the engine cooling circulation system. So, if it is leaking expect that your overflow tank will be a little low.

Porsche does not take wheels in for trade. Some venders like Wheel Enhancement do. Their trade-in value will be based on the wheels condition (and whether they can repair it it and sell it as used). It is my right rear wheel, 2000 model 18" turbo-look wheel. I forget the width, but I am guessing you know. I'd appreciate info on pricing and p/n. Also, does Porsche take the core in trade?Your Turbo Look rear wheel is part number 993 362 140 04. The retail price is $679.80.

I didn't realize we had "auto-censor" here.
*** = rear end, butt, caboose.......whatever PC term you want to call it.
If I was telling a story about a donkey that crossed the road would jack*** get censored too? ;)
Sorry to soil this family-friendly place- I'll watch my language.

Nothing is wrong. On US and Canadian cars there is only one rear fog light (so that people are not confused with the brake lights). This is true for Porsche, Mercedes and BMW also.
-
Sorry... those things do happen.
If the damage is not too bad then have a look at NASA racer Pete's DIY here. Or folks can recommend a wheel repair house in your area. Finally, if you need the part number and price then give us the wheel width, and MY of your car.

No. Also, body type (coupe or cab), 2WD or 4WD, and transmission type (6 speed or Tip) make a difference. All of these combinations make up for different vehicle weights/weight distribution.

I sent you the two Boxster TSBs for wheels and tires (to your Hotmail address).

I believe the "K" designates special order only

thanks Loren!! I assume that removing the early 996 and the current 996 is same?
Yup... the same.
-
Have a look at the Maintenance Checklists. Boxsters are pretty much the same.
-
Noticed on page 53 of the new Christophorus edition that Porsche shows a Short Shifter Assembly. Does anyone know of this factory shifter, and the price plus hours to install on a 04C4S. Like the idea it comes from Porsche and not aftermarket.
Have a look at this thread

can someone email me instructions on bumper installation please.
gchen78@hotmail.com
Have a look here in the DIY section. It is covered in the 3rd Radiator Install.

It is actually an oil - water heat exchanger. If there is any sign of a leak I would get it corrected as soon as possible.
-
You will need to remove the plastic belly pan as it is under this and looking towards the front of the car. Here it is on a Boxster (996 is the same location). Gas will run down your arm... :(BTW, where is the fuel filter located? Is this something I can easily get access to and replace?Jeff's pic

Yes, as Rob said... coupes, cabs, targas and 2WD or 4WD and 6-speed or Tip all affect the cars weight and spring rates. Give Gert your car specs and he will make sure you get the right spring set (i.e. year, model (C2, C4, etc.) body style (coupe, cab, etc.) and transmission (6-sp or Tip).

Bought a 99 Carrera Cabrio that has a rattle where the hardtop rear spinlocks attached to chassi, it´s very anoying, is there something I can do to eliminate this?
With the softop I have a rattle on the center lock, where the softop attached to the windshield. I heard there are some TBS for eliminating these bugs, can anyone provide me the link for it, I really love this car but those rattles are driving me mad. Tanks in advance.
You've got mail...

The shift knob is a 5 minute job. The handbrake might take an unexperienced person 1 hour. This might be a good time to consider a short shifter -- since you have to take the center console out for the handbrake anyway.
If you have a stock shifter knob it just pulls off (lift the boot and if there is no set screw then it is the standard shifter). B&M Short Shifter Install Instructions with console removal instructions.
The handbrake requires removal of the console which will require a small screwdriver and a Torx T-20 and T-30 bits. The nuts that hold the handbrake on are 13 mm (as I recall). Replacing the Handbrake (DIY)

Ouch, I thought that "sports" suspension meant the M030 option! I don't quite understand why Porsche chose to change the rear suspension, leaving the front suspension alone. Nonetheless, I love the way my 40th Anniversary 911 handles versus my previous 2003 M3.
I would love to know where I can get more detailed information on this model.
Just to clarify... I did not say the front was not an M030 variety. I said the rear is different from any other rear spring/shock configuration.

Hi Loren. The Anniversary model appears to sit a little lower in the front than a standard Carrera. How does the suspension of the Anniversary model differ from the standard Carrera? Does the Anniversary car come with the ROW 030 suspension?
//// :) \\\\ spider
Not exactly...
The US 40th anniversary car gets special springs and shocks for the rear only (spring color code grey/grey) that are different than the RoW M030. As a matter of fact the RoW version of the 40th anniversary car gets yet a different set of rear springs and shocks (spring color code green/green). I think the shocks are just a little stiffer. The spring and "official" ride heights have not yet been published in the tech manuals.
