  2. If the car did not have power/memory seats from the factory then it is next to impossible to put them in. Power/Memory seats are a factory option and the (main) wiring harness is different for cars ordered with that option. So you would need to either change the whole wiring harness or try to patch in all wiring for the seats.

Downgrading the seats is easy if the car came with the power/memory option but upgrading is extremely difficult. If you bought the new seats from a dealer then take them back - they should know better than to sell you something that can't work.

  3. You will need to press off ball joint on the wheel carrier using a commercially available ball joint extractor (tie rod extractor). Do not damage the boot of the ball joint when pressing off the ball joint. If necessary, coat the boot and the ball joint extractor with tire mounting paste.

Use the proper torque when installing:

    - to wheel carrier 56 ftlb

    - to carrier side section (camber eccentric) 74 ftlb

The rear toe alignment will need to be redone after the change.

  4. From the instrument cluster Diagnostic Section of the Service Manual:

Speedometer: electrical signals from the ABS/ASR or PSM are converted and emitted in digital form.
This makes sense that both would go on if the ABS/ASR signal was not there. I would check fuse B9 (second row from the top ninth fuse from the left) (15A) first. After that it would have to be a broken wire or bad ABS control module.
  5. No idea on what needs to be changed but measure the distance between the two mounting holes on the caliper.  Then measure the the stock 996 caliper.  If they are different (probably) then you will have to replace the wheel carriers.  You would probably want to use GT3/GT2 carriers as the turbo front carriers are set up for AWD.

Also I hope that you have 18" wheels or larger as 17's wont clear the caliper.

I have 18" wheels. I have to look into the wheel carriers. Doesn't someone sell turbo brake upgrade kits?

Both EVO and FVD sell upgrade kits. You WILL need new hub carriers - TT's are 4WD and your C2 is not.
  6. I don't know that the lights have anything to do with the early build car updates - I always thought it was to better distinguish the Carrera from the Boxster.

Certainly the late MY99 build cars have a number of small problems fixed (i.e. coolant expansion tank, gas cap and oil filler cap seals, o-rings on oil return pipes, clutch boost spring, etc.). Changes are made during production all the time so cars that were early builds still may have many of the later build fixes. That and/or the dealer may have fixed most of them.

Your car's build date can be found a sticker on the driver's door frame.
