  1. Late posting this from last year on 20 May, even manage to get the trip to show 3.2, for my 2000MY 3.2S.
  2. A bit overdue with this reply. but was the suspension in its natural loaded position when you torqued up the control arm and tuning fork bolts? These clamp on to the bush in the rubber bushing and will be over twisting the rubber if they were tightened when the suspension was on full droop. As a tip, I lift under the hub with a jack until it just takes the weight off the axle stand/ lift arm so the arms are in the same position as if sitting on all 4 wheels, also known as Z0.
  3. Isn't the '99 2.5 fitted with a double row IMS? as are early 2.7 and 3.2 M96 motors IIRC. These are significantly less prone to IMS failure, so I'd look at other possibilities too.
  4. Anyone know anywhere I can get a good wiring diagram to help chase down a fault with my interior lighting on a 2000 Boxster S. I've not interior or vanity lights so I suspect the supply. Fuse is OK so I need to trace from the back of the fuse panel across the dash and up the A pillar so need to know which colours I'm looking for and where and even run a fly lead if necessary..
  5. Trying to get access to a Porsche scanner at a weekend but I'm working away from home during the week so can't get to places in normal business hours.
  6. Last weekend I changed my centre console insert to the storage type to remove the ash tray. In doing so I disconnected and reconnecte the electric window switches to move the switched to the new insert. Since then my alarm has been going off at anything from a few minutes to hours later. I have taken the whole centre console out and checked any visible wiring plus the microswitch on the locking storage compartment/arm rest which is OK. The battery is new and there are no other apparent new electrical faults and the only known fault is that none for the interior light and sun visor lights to the top of the front screen work (broken wire or bad earth I'm thinking) which was a fault when I bought it last September. Any ideas folks? By the way the UK alarm system had an additional (loud) siren, not sure in which other countries this is OE.
  7. Looking for part number for the early Boxster basic interior light. Searches seem to throw up a 987 part number which would be a later version not the simple 3 position (on/doors/off) rocking light. Looking at mine which has a broken retaining clip it has Peugeot/Citroen markings, if so anyone got the Peugeot part number also as I bet these are cheaper than Porsche.... It looks like its out of a 205 from the research I've done so far.
