    I think it's much easier on the Boxster than it is on the 996....?

    I've been told the dealer pulls the engine for the A/O separator job on a 996.

    I hear you can pull out the airbox, intake, plenum etc...and have a tight acces to the AOS. To get to the bellows you have access from the rear (tight access as well) but can be done... I think its a harder than replacing the coolant reservior, but similar type of fiddling.

  2. The reason I ask is because I just had the Evo supercharger installed. In order to get the sc mounted they had to shim the motor mounts. Is it possible that they are worn causing the motor to sag? The sc is now kind of resting on the frame. I don't really like this situation and I'm trying to figure out what the real problem is and how to properly fix it.

    Motor mounts are fairly cheap, I had mine replaced while they were mounting my EVO SC... It still not to late, The SC should not rest on anything...also, they might not honor your warranty if something goes wong with the SC, due to improper installation. Who did your install?

    I own a 2000 996 millennium edition. Mine has been used as a daily car since new (not just by me) and still looks fab. Its maybe because its a bit different that people look after it more, I don't know, my understanding is that a lot of these millennium editions were bought up by people who thought they may be a very valuable investment as they would become collectors items due to there only being 911 of them (individually numbered), and also due to the chromaflair violet colour and natural leather interior, both of which were unique to the car. So there are some cracking examples available.

    The chrome alloys were also unique, and you are right, they are the biggest problem on the car. The chrome often flakes off through time leaving patches of red undercoat and make them look terrible. I have replaced mine with split rim gt3 alloys as my car also has a full gt3 kit.

    The interior is either loved or hated by Porsche owners but I think it makes the car that bit different from others.

    Most of them had every option installed, mine has absolutely everything I think including retro 70's pimp phone handset!

    Hard to find any for sale but there was one here in the UK with 25 MILES on the clock, someone had garaged it since new as an investment and it was for sale for 75k!!!

    Hi, I thought that I was the only one with the gt3 kit... includes gt3 seats and a S/C... I would love to see pics of your car and some of your mods: here is some of mine:

    BTW: what makes this a cool car is the paint and the natural leather scheme...every event that I take this car to, people flock around it cause they thought they have seen it all, especially the violetchromaflair paint, it changes color as the day progresses. I think it is one of the most beautiful paint/interiors scheme in the 996. Mine is 520 of 911. But its not for everyones taste.

  4. The problem is when I try and depress the seat heater switch on the console it does not stay on, so it is hard to say what does and does not heat up.

    The fuse in the fuse box looks fine. The seat is out of the car, how do I check to see if the seating element is working or getting power. Sorry, I am not very mechanically inclined. Is there a tool I can buy that will tell me?

    That switch will only latch the relay of the heater, the heater power will not go through this swicth. If you hear relays clicking when the swicth is depressed then that part of the circuit is good. Next step is power feed to the relay that powers the seat.

    I would check resistance on the bad seat, if your not reading any ohms (resistance) then that heater is open (no good). If you have resistance I would compare it to you drivers seat. If the resistance is similar to the good seat then it is not your heater and should be wiring and should check for power issues. GL
