  1. I went the 986forum.com and couldn't getin.... Now I try and it says its gone for good, message posted by arc, active riders of chicago. This saddens me cause I love that forum.
  2. good thing you told me, I have a 1997, What makes the passenger window do the auto-up? is it a relay or the switch itself?
  3. Ill try that, I was reading about the adjuster for the window height, Is there an adjuster to get the window to adjust forward and backwards? My passenger window it about 3 millimeters back too far and i have wind noise coming from the sideview mirror meets the glass area.. With the window all the way up, Theres alittle gap at the 3 point where the window meets the edge of the sideview mirror and meets the pillar window seal.
  4. SOrry guys, thats not what i mean, My issue is that the Passenger window wont roll UP when 1 touch. The driverside does 1 touch up and down, and the passenger side does 1 touch down but not up. If the passengerside is also suppose to have 1 touch UP, let me know please.
  5. Does anyone here know what makes the Drivers side window automatically go up with 1 touch of the button, Both my windows go down with 1 touch but the Passenger window doesnt have the 1 touch feature to go back up... Is it the switch or the relay that enables the drivers side window to have 1 touch auto up and down? I'd like to have both windows to have 1 touch roll-up ability. :D
  6. I plan on painting the interior tri peices silver either this weekend or the next but i have afew questions about that... How do i remove the armrest cover on the doors and how do i remove the plastic cover above the door handle inside the door? Also most importantly, How can i remove the Vent blades from the interior side air vents so i dont get any silver paint on them? Thanks in advance! BTW I've already painted the gauge trim rings and the trim around the door lock & cig lighter buttons and they looks nice!
  7. oh sorry, i bought and need convertible top installation instructions. not hard top, no worries
  8. Hey people, I just picked up a new top on tarzana for my boxster but im going to be doing the install myself... $75,000 in tools has to pay for itself some how ;-) Can anyone point me towards a good write-up with pictures? THanks in advance!
  9. Toolpants is right, low coolant level. is there any issues that can arise if the coolant level is too high? Also, the airbag light, I called a Porsche Dealer in pasadena that I had never been to, and asked them if they had records of my car being worked on at there dealer before my ownership, AND THEY DID, it was taken in once for an Airbag light issue, I asked her details on the fix, She said they took the gauges assembly off and gave the airbag ground wire a better ground source. Also she said they replaced a seat belt buckle in the process.
  10. Interesting, I dont have a PST2, what if i hook up my ODBII scanner, will the scanner read temp from the DME?
  11. Yeah sounds like my issue in some ways, When i replaced my fuel pump, i noticed alot of this sand looking material stuck on the screen on the pump itself, i think some of this got through and past the filter and is stuck in one of the injectors... Porsche said they have a test that can determine what is the wrong with it and it starts at $270.... keyword, STARTS.
  12. Oh ok, then, I guess 3celcius off isnt too bad. Loren, what would cause it to trigger fans 3c late? Remmeber triggers at 103, and disengauges at 100.
  13. Well it bothers me that it is 3c off of when it should be triggering the fans, and also, someone also told me its suppose to trigger at 96.75 celcius rather than 100, my car is a 1997 2.5 liter motor......incase that makes any difference.
  14. Ok well all im looking for is Stage 1 to trigger, and heres what i got. During Idle, ambeint outside temp at 61°F degrees... AC off. Fans did not turn on until 103°C and remained on until the coolant temp lowered to 100°C. Now Loren, whats all this mean? I got the °C reading from the Automatic Climate Control display section 6c incase your wondering.
  15. If you live in the USA, Look for your local Auto Parts store, they usually have an ODBII scanner that they can hook up to your car and they will give you the error code for free. I know Autozone will scan ODB II cars for free.
  16. Hello again, I have 1 question, Do the radiator fans infront of the car turn on at a certain temp or only while the AC is on?
  17. LOL, no i didnt use any fuel additives at the time or around the oil change. It was a hot day too, usually hot days my idle isnt smooth but not its smooth on hot days. Although i still have my stumble at 1500 RPM in 2nd gear and higher which i discribed in earlier posts.
  18. This might far more easier and straight forward for you...it a DIY with pictures. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthr...ht=turbo+bumper
  19. All I have done was de snorkel and installed a dry K&N filter...I think ill let the shop tell me whats wrong with the car. Its proving impossible to diagnose the car over a forum.
  20. Topless, Yes i've done this while i replaced the fuel pump, It took me about a hr and during that hour the battery was out the car. No change. no codes. no clue, Im going to take it to a non-dealer porsche mechanic soon cause on hotter days the hesitation worsens and cold days its almost perfect.
  21. I just got back from my fathers shop, I got my first oil change for my Boxster. I used 15w-40...I know I'm suppose to use 15-50 but royal purple doesnt make it...I should be fine. But already after 20 miles, Im reeping the benefits. The idle is getting smoother with every mile i drive, the acceleration is more crisp, smooth & a tad quicker. I had the same results using this oil in my Twin Turbo but I stopped using it cause the price for the oil was to high, But nothing is too expensive for my Boxster. My Idle is SOOOOOO much better, I figure after about 500 miles that the idle should be so smooth that I wont be able to tell the engine is running just like in my 140,000 mile Twin Turbo. I've witness some pretty amazing stuff with this oil in the past, One of my buddies turned me on to this oil when he showed me a before and after picture of his head on his newer prelude...With normal oil the cams, valve springs & all metal surface that oil touched looked like any other car, But after 3000 miles with Royal Purple in his engine, He took off the valve cover again to replace a cover gasket and it was remarkable...The cam, valve springs and everything under the valve cover looked polished and whatever blackish residue that was on the oil soaked parts was now gone... Does anyone have any experience using Royal Purple gear oil for there manual trans?
  22. Well i have that too, but none of them specifically say Vanity Mirror lite, Trunk Lite.
  23. I tested the connection for the trunk light with a test light and no power... What fuse are these linked into?
