  1. Hello there...I would like some opinions about the following...I own a 02 carrera 2 cabrio with the 18 inch carrera 2 wheels and tires. The size of the standard rear tires is 285/30/18.The recommended pressure for the rear tires is 44psi.When I drive the car with 44psi the car is vary fast and free revving, but it has slightly strange behaviour on the road...It seems a little unstable when cornering at very high speeds. On the other hand, with rear tire pressure at 40psi,the car is noticeably slower, but it seems glued on the road providing extreme confidence...Which is the correct pressure to use on national roads?
  2. Hello there....I ve also installed a kn 63-7000 kit in my 02 carrera cab.The car seems stronger,I like the sound,I ve done 3000km with the kit and had not any check lights or even instant hesitation...Everything works fine...Then I remap the ECU and the car became even more powerfull...However,the 23hp claim of the KN is fantasy...My car has porsche sport exhausts,kn induction and chipped ECU and I believe I ve gained about 15-20hp...
  3. My friend, install aNOS dry system and put a 38 jet in nitrous and 42 in the T piece of the vacuum...It will work perfect, assuming that the engine does not have a modified ECU with higher advance timing...If so return to the original ECU software...
  4. Hello guys...I am trying to figure out the correct spoiler switch for my car....The A02 is a gloss and the A05 is a mat...Both are for coupe,so they are istalled in right side of the dash...What about cabrio, where left side installation is needed?i need to find a mat switch for cabrio996,for left side isntall...please help....
  5. Hello there...I was wondering if there is a way to make the roof of a carrera cabrio to open auto with one touch, like front windows...And to close as well...Also I tried to do a mod about the rear windows to close when the roof is down, but no success so far...I jumpered the switch on the front side of the roof so to make the rear windows operate...The problem is that when I tryied to close the roof, there was no response...I ll try something else tomorrow...
  6. Hello there...Is the switch one touch operated or should I keep it pressed all time to get the wing up and down?
  7. Hello Nikos... The figures I stated are with the KN intake and they are power on wheels+transmission losses...The ECU upgrade I choosed is made by myself (it is part of my job as a programmer)There is one thing that has take my considerarion in the dyno time...The car with the stock program run a little rich air fuel ratio...Many years now I ve measured many many cars and all of them(in stock version) had an air fuel ratio neither rich nor lean.Maybe Porsche runs their cars a little rich...On the other hand maybe the air feed from the dyno was less than needed in order to achieve optimum air fuel ratio...You see Porsche needs air in the rear end of the car while all funs of the dyno are in the front...If that is the case I will feed the car with more air so to get more power...Stay tuned...
  8. Finally I managed to dyno the car with the exhaust flaps on and off...While Porsche does not speak about any increase in hp with the use of sport exhausts, there is a serious difference in dyno measures...Comparing the two curves the car is about 2kgm higher in torgue and about 7 to 10 hp higher in power throuthout the entire rpm band with the sport exhausts activated...So far I have not done any ECU mods, but the stock software has been read and I am in the phase of modifying it so to overwrite it over the stock one...Just for the record the car produced 305hp with stock exhaust and 313hp with the PSE.
  9. thank you Loren but my car is a 02 cabrio...not a coupe...Is the DME positioned in the exact same point in both coupe and cabrio?
  10. Hello again there guys....Two days ago I installed the KN 63-7000 induction kit.I followed all the detailed instructions step by step and the installation was successful.I did a reset on the car ECU,checked the cone filter for over oiling and finally drove the car...The car is noticeably faster than before, especcially between 3 and 5 krpm.No engine hasitation,no misfiring,no CEL...It runs fine...In more general no disadvantage so far...Also in full throthle acceleration, you can hear the engine sound change in 5500rpm where the cariocamplus engages...(sounds simular to VTEC activation sound)Tomorrow I am about to reprogram the ECU on a dyno...Hope to do it with my serial reprogramming software, without the need to dismount the ECU,but just in case where is the DME of the car?Under driver or passenger seat?I am about to dyno it with PSE on and off and with the normal and chipped DME...Hope to get some more HP...
  11. Hello there to all Porsche maniacs...I just purchased a aport suspension for my 02 C2C manual. The part number is 00004450029 Could someone please inform me if this is the correct sport suspension for my car?I believe it should be the european sport suspension...
  12. Thanks a lot...Also another matter is that I am trying to find a way to reverse default ON to default OFF of the PSE...Tried to reverse the black/white valve in the vacuum tube of the PSE kit(as Loren stated in a post) without success...The flaps stayed ON no matter the position of the switch...
  13. Hello there guys...I own a '02 Carrera 2 cabrio and I have some questions to ask... 1)Sometimes during startup there is smoke coming up from the exhausts for about 5 seconds, then dissapear.First time happened when the car was parked on a hillway.Supposing this is normal, are there any ways to eliminate or minimize it? 2)When I step over potholes I hear a ticking metttalic noise from drivers door.I open the door while driving and the noise dissapeared.Probably the noise is coming out of the door lock?Any ideas? 3)When the top is down, rear windows can only stay down!!!This is vary strange,Porsche writes it in owners manual but I cant understund the reason for that...I mean when the hard top is istalled(the foor is as well down)they operate normally. What is the purpose of Porsche doing this? Thanks for your help guys, keep up the great site...
