  1. You said the Pyro "Cuts" the web, I believe the "Pyro" actually tightens the belt. I hope it does not cut the belt!!!!!!!!!!!! The "Pyro" is a separate apparatus compared to the belt reel, I would think you could un-reel the belt and then put another belt onto it. Scott
  2. Probably the screech is teeth on teeth misengaging. The mating teeth on the ring gear have probably begun to wear so that sometimes they don't engage -- and you hear the results. Sadly, the only fix is a new $$$$$$ ring gear or Before your get into major surgery, a faulty Bendix drive in the starter can cause an occasional screeching noise as you describe. Scott
  3. Yep..I make my rounds, I love Porsche and helping out. I figure if I answer your questions you will be happier, "pay it forward"... Scott

  6. Is your AC cold, if not, I recharged my AC and the same noise went away. BTW- it was low on R134. Scott
  7. I would pressure check your system, Also check your fans for function, unless you know already. BTW- The car will give you a numeric readout if you want it as you drive, without your external OBDII test tool. http://www.cb-racing.com/boxster_AC.htm Scott
  8. It could also be this: Usually the problem would be with a sluggish Idle stabilizer or also called an IACV. These valves can get corrosion in them and slow down until they get stuck and then cease to work. This valve controls the amount of controlled bypass air required to keep the car idling. These conditions change with load and the valve opens or closes to accommodate this. The valve is easy to access from its location on the side of the throttle valve housing. This condition will usually be exacerbated with the A.C. on. It also could be your oil seperator leaking air into the system. Scott

  12. Yes sometimes the bearing is not bad enough to give a lot of play. Is this in back or front. When you rotate the wheel, you do not hear anything, another thing it can be is a rock stuck between your caliper and your rotor. Where is the noise coming from, have you gone through gravel. A worn brake pad can grind, but usually this is only under braking. Need a little more info to really help.
  13. There is another person on this board going through all of this with you. He bought the newer MAF and now has loping problems [High-Low idle]. It runs better but still is not right, It's probably better to go with what you know. [stock number] IMO Scott
  14. I guess your guessing right. without any sound affects or me being there I would say so. Lift the car on that side and move [rotate] the wheel, move it from side to side [wobble.] You will probably find a lot of movement, wobble in your hands. It also could be a CV joint, but I have heard about the bearings more often then not. Scott
  15. Do you have part numbers, one is supposedly an upgrade. The jury is still out on that, there seems to be problem with one of the "three" MAF's. Check the other threads on MAF problems.
  16. P0410 Secondary Air Injection System - Signal Implausible (Cylinders 1 - 3) P1411 Secondary Air Injection System - Signal Implausible (Cylinders 4 - 6) Read this: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...st=0entry8285
  17. If I may ask, how much was your new extended warranty.
  18. I believe go back to what you know [what the car knows], otherwords without the patch go back to the first numbered 986 606 125 00 MAF [that is if you can find it.] But I defer to Tool Pants, if there is another way. Scott
