  1. Different cars have different wiring harnesses for the different options. You may want to check your harness. Paul
  2. The hole door latch assembly was like $75 from Sunset Imports. Paul
  3. How many miles do you have on this car. Sounds like the cam chain tensioner is not working. Paul
  4. You can send a request to the librarian for the font. Some of the letters that are not in the word porsche are real weird. The name is just glued on so it is real easy to peal off. They will break when you peal it off. To install a new one, you just pull off the backing tab and stick the new one to the car. Paul
  5. Maybe you just want to replace the switch (part #10). I would call Sunset Imports for a price. Here is a picture. Paul
  6. Here are the instructions for removing the door interior. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/7-door-micro-switch/ This should help you to see if the electrical connection to the window switches has not fallen off. Paul
  7. Tap on the cans with a very small hammer. Normally when the car gets hot the noise stops. Good luck with your search. Paul
  8. Thanks for showing that. I would never had guess it. I post links to other sites if I can not find something on renntech. Thanks again, Paul
  9. No chip flashing for me. I am happy with the factory red-line. I have seen Caymens as fast as my Carrera S and I am just waiting for them to explode. You know there pushing when a 3.2 is as fast as a 3.8. Paul
  10. Here are the instructions. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7065 It says 65 ft-lbs for caliper torque. Paul
  11. I do not know why you have to remove the calipers. I would just pull the pin (#15), spread the calipers, and pull the pads. I am including a picture with this reply. Paul
  12. No performance with new tips. The stock tips are brushed chrome plated. You can buy polished chrome plated tips. They are easier to clean but it is one of the more dirty places on the car. It just depends on what you want. Paul
  13. I bought them from a company that is no longer around. He bought them here. http://www.tarett.com/items/996-997-products/list.htm You are right. I use two jacks. One jack to lift the car. The other jack to lift the suspension. The $175.00 price is about the lowest you will find. Paul
  14. You do not need to remove the calipers or the rotors to replace the brakes. The rotor screws just need to be firm. The rotors are not supported by the screws. The calipers are about 50 to 80 ft-lbs. Send a request in the part section. Paul
  15. Yes you are crazy!!! Take the car to the track. Open the windows and drive as fast as you can. You will be connected to the sound very soon. The acceleration pedal is a no brainer. Either you are full on or full off. Take a Driver's Education event at the track and feel the fun!!! Paul
  16. I would say your OK. I have the factory wheel spacers and they do not make much difference. I have to watch out for curbs more. Just drive it!!! Paul
  17. I am right with loren. The picture Loren shows is the oil heat exchanger. I have included a picture of the Air conditioner heat exchanger. Paul
  18. I was going to have a shop replace the sender. On the way to the shop to drop the car off, the sender worked fine. A few months later I changed the oil and the sender stopped working for a few days. The trick is the sender can not be bent when you install it. This will require you to remove the intake manifold most likely on the passenger side. I had a quote for about $400 to replace it. Note that my car is a Carrera S. Paul
  19. The 997-2 cars have a bigger wire. I had this installed when they replaced the motor. If you have a tip car, then it is almost impossible to replace. A manual is easier because there is no huge transmission cooler sitting on top of the transmission. One thing I did that helped a little was remove the connection under the car on the passenger side and sand paper the connection. The connection is behind a plastic door that picks up alot of road dirt. This is a common problem with the 997-1 cars. Paul
  20. Maybe someone in your neighbor hood is unlocking it when they open their garage. There is a post where you take your key apart and tape over the contacts. Paul
  21. Your car may not have the wire-ing harness for the phone. That is why your not getting any replys. Paul
  22. I had a guy tell me that when you put the car on a stretch table, you apply the stretch and release the stretch and the car goes back to it's un-stretched shape. I think it will be very dificult to stretch the pasenger wheel back into shape. You might be better to find a car that has been in a fire and put your parts on it. Paul
