  1. The brakes on a S model are bigger then on a non S model. I would assume that a 2S and a 4S would be the same. You can check the part numbers for the two models. If the pads are the same, then the rotors are the same. Not to hard to replace rotors with stock rotors. Paul
  2. It is the door latch. Here is the DIY. http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/32134-door-latch/ The latch just gives out with time. Good luck. Paul
  3. I was told by a mechanic that you lift the car and with a long rod, you hammer underneath the transmission to pop the alternator cable loose from the top of the transmission. There is not much working room and it does take a good hit to pop loose. There is no way to get your hands into the top of the transmission because the transmission cooler sits on top of the transmission and it is in the way. Paul
  4. The car is a 2006 997 4S. Cannot get the RPM's above 1,700. Please help solve error code P1095. Paul
  5. Very interesting write up about running winter tires in Germany. I know that Switzerland is real close and that looks like a real good place to drive a Porsche. Maybe I will drive a Porsche in Switzerland someday(Yes it will be during the summer). Sorry to hear about your winter tire rules for your country. Paul
  6. My only choice would be to dis-connect the battery for about 3 to 5 minutes. This could reset everything. You will need to re-teach your car how you drive. Paul
  7. Yes you need to get a 997-2 cable for a 997-1 car that is dated 2006. Here is an old link. http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/35421-997-carrera-manual-problems-starting-cranking/page__fromsearch__1 Glad you hard cranking is cured. Paul
  8. The hardest part of doing the brakes is removing the tire. I have driven to the track and installed brakes before driving on the track. These are the easiest brakes to do of any car that I have ever own. Paul
  9. Vanz77 You click on the persons name that you want to send a message to and then you click on send message. Paul
  10. Mixing tires is not a great thing to do but sometimes you do it anyway. Good luck. Paul
  11. I try to keep my opinions to myself. I picked up 5 seconds a lap at the Thunderhill Racetrack in Buttonwillow, California. I hate to see people post questions and never get any feed back. I may not be right 100 percent of the time but I like to try and help others. Paul
  12. So you are saying that you never had to re-build the motor and all you had to do was change the oil. You really think a 355 horsepower motor can take all that track abuse? I dis-agree but then it is your website. Paul
  13. The Pirelli p-zeros are a hard tire and last alot longer then the Michelins. Paul
  14. Car should be fine up to about 50,000 miles. Track days after 50,000 miles would be a time to re-think what you want to do with the car. Paul
  15. Might want to give a call to a salvage yard. http://www.oklahomaforeign.com/ They get new cars in every two weeks. Just keep calling. Paul
  16. That might not be a cable. It might be a air hose I think. Try pulling it out of the air box with not much effort. Paul
  17. I like the color of your car. Here's my 2006 car. http://www.zone77.org Paul
  18. The six CD player plays regular format music CD's. The one CD plays MP3 files. An average MP3 CD disc holds about 125 songs in MP3 format. Paul
  19. I have a couple of jumper batteries. They work great in a plane. One powers my moving map display while flying. Good luck with your winter shut down. Paul
  20. I can just imagine me driving in the desert. Down-shifting from 6th to 5th at 140MPH. Or maybe on the Dubai Racetrack. Paul
