  1. Hi, Ther is some article some where on removing the speaker box. You start by pulling out the two plastic air scoops near the outside panels. A small screwdriver will help pop them out. Then you will use a torx wrench to remove the bolts that hold the speaker box. Remove the box and underneath the carpet you will see the computer for the car. Paul
  2. Hi, I would lube the hinge with some light machine oil. Here is a picture of the 996 spoiler. Paul
  3. Hi, Sounds like bad gas. Paul
  4. Hi, Can you post a picture of your air filter adapter once installed? Paul
  5. Hi, I put Pagrid Blue racing pads on the front and the dust was reduced about half. They were easy to do and I did it myself. The pads felt better at the track compared to stock pads. I will put blue pads on the back wheels soon. Paul
  6. Hi, Here is a site for repair manuals. They may not have your car year but I would bookmark this site for future reference. Paul http://www.workshopmanuals.co.uk/
  7. Hi, I know for a fact that the porsche club president for the denver region drives a GT-3 and lives in Boulder. I would search the Porsche club of america site and hook up with the racing division. The guy with the GT-3 races in Time Trials in the Denver area. You could drive over and check out his roll bar cage. Paul
  8. Hi, It looks like the grill is held by two expansion revits (#8). The rivet (#8) holds part 5 to part 9 to part 3 to part 1. I would drill out the rivets to release the grill. Enclosed is a picture of the parts. Paul
  9. Hi, I would ask a supplier like suncoast for a price. Paul
  10. Hi, I could not find the bag put here is the part numbers for the wind screen. Paul
  11. Hi, My brother is happy with his 997 4S and I am happy with my 997 S. Either car will make you happy. Paul
  12. Hi, It looks like the rubber spoiler has two expansion rivets to the engine hood. You would have to drill out the rivets out to remove the rubber boot. Is it your goal to replace the rubber boot? A lot of the screws on a Porsche require a torx drive and not a allen wrench. Are you sure the allen wrench is backing out the screws? Paul
  13. Hi, Here is another picture of the 996 spoiler. I am having fun. Paul
  14. Hi, I wish I knew how to post pictures. Here is the 997 spoiler detail. Does this help? Paul 997_SPOILER.doc
  15. Hi, Once you disconnect the hoses the unit just lifts right out. There will be two groumets that you will want to find when replacing the air filter. The air filter is not bolted down. Paul
  16. HI, go up to the topright of this screen and push the search menu. Type in I-pod and you will get a whole slew of information. Here is one of the links for good I-pod stuff. Paul http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/review_grades/C204/
  17. Hi, I do not know how to paste a picture. Enclosed is a file with the brake picture. Paul (edit - made image show in post - Loren)
  18. Hi, I checked and the front brakes are just like the rears. The sensors fit into the brakes. You would use a small screwdriver and pry the sensor out. The only metal clip I see is the one that holds the pads in. If you post a picture I think we can all see the problem you are running up against. The sensor wire is replaceable. I bought racing brake pads and zipped the wires out of the way. Paul
  19. Hi, I just got another screw in the sidewall of the tire. This will cost me over $500 for a new tire. Part of the expense in a daily drive car. Paul
  20. Hi, You good get a 997 Turbo technical manual but you need to become a contributing member. Send in 25 dollars and the manual is yours for downloading. Here is the site when you contribute. Paul http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8865
  21. Hi, You will need to describe your wheel since they are add ons. The tiptonic wheel is #1432 add. The sport wheel is #1435 add. The Three spoke wheel is #1436 add. This information will help. Paul
  22. Hi, Installing the wheel spacers is ease. Remove wheel, install spacer with little screws that come with the spacers, and put back wheel with longer bolts that come with the spacers. My tire wear is still very even across the tire with the spacers. I have not aligned the car. Paul
  23. Hi, I have a extingisher in my car but my brother does not. I know that the extingisher is option code 1509. My brother has a 997 4S with all electric seats. Some of the racing brackets are pricey so a factory bracket should also be pricey but it will help with the choices. Please provide a part number for the fire extingisher bracket. Thank you, Paul
  24. Hi, I just installed the clear ones on my 997 S. Order them from Suncoast and had them in a week. Installing them took about five minutes. Paul (edit - made image viewable - Loren)
  25. Hi, I have hit the rev. limiter a few times and never had this problem. If your oil level is fine, then I would take it to the dealer. Paul
