  1. Loren or Tool Pants, When you refer to the right wheel well, is that looking from the front of the vehicle or the right well if sitting in the car?
  2. Thanks Loren! I really appreciate your help.
  3. Hi Tool Pants and Loren, Please forgive my ignorance. I am strugling with this. When you refer to the right wheel well, do you mean from exterior? Do I have to remove the well liner? Also, do you know if the CR23 radio will work in my car?
  4. I have those levers, but unfortunately they do not move. It's as if they are locked. Does anyone have any idea how I can get to the battery? I dont want to get the car towed just because of the battery.
  5. Ok, just checked my fuse box and I dont have the emergency release connection as the owners manual shows. So how do I find the emergency release cable?
  6. Where do I find the emergency release cable? Disregard, I think I found it in the owners manual. You are the KING Loren!!
  7. Where do I find the emergency release cable?
  8. Ok, my Porsche has been standing a lot lately. I have not had the time to keep her battery power charged. SO! I tried to start her yesterday and noticed very little power. I cannot even pop the hood to get to the battery. Can anyone tell me what I can do to jump the car without accessing the battery? Loren?
  9. Hey Guys, Loren this one is for you. I am still having issues with my ignition. Everything works fine except when actually try to turn the engine. The key goes in perfectly and everything functions normal except when turning the key to start the car. What actually happens is that I have to hold the key in the start position for sometime before it actually starts. Sometimes it starts in 5-10 seconds, but sometimes it takes over a minute. I am at a loss! I replaced the ignition switch 2 twice and both seemed to work for a very limited time. Would start on the first attempt for a couple of days and then it got progressively worse. Any ideas? Secondly, I have noticed that I am getting a steering vibration when I an travelling at about 50-60 while going a slight turn on the freeway, it seems more serious on left curves than right, but still get the vibration. Sometimes it is more severe while accelarating. What could be the problem. Could this be a damper problem? Any ideas at all?
  10. Keep us posted if it does. I am having CEL (MAF) problems too.
  11. So, from what I am seeing is that nobody has ever removed the rings around the RPM indicator or installed the following: Chrome Rings I simply just want to remove mine and get them painted. It cannot be that hard I am sure. Loren do you have any ideas?
  12. Thanks Dan, I will look into that and let you know of the outcome.
  13. Does anyone know how I can go about removing the clock dials so that I can get them sprayed?
  14. Hey Russ, I was until you got my attention. Can you tell me why not? How difficult will it be so spray them myself?
  15. Hi everyone! I am thinking on upgrading the trimming on my boxster. I have a all black interior and wish to break it with updating the trimmings. I am leaning toward the aluminum trimming, what would you go for if you had all black interior?
  16. Mike, Thanks for the tip. When I connect the radio's wiring to the amp wiring, I could not believe how loud it got, and that was with 3 out of 50 bar on the radio volume. Anything above 10 would distort the speakers. The standard CDR-220 radio has a 13Watt output per channel and the amp being 4x40Watt. My new radio has a 4x50Watt output so I am thinking that I really do not need the amp to run the 4 small standard speakers which I think are more than sufficient. I will buy wiring and run them just as your described. Now I just need to get the unit to fit since the face is about 2mm to large, so it makes contact with the plastic trimming and does not fit flush in the mount. Thanks again!!!
  17. Ok, gentleman!! Here is one for you. I was not so fortunate with my installation. It seems that the wiring goes straight to the amp and then gets routed to the individual speakers. However, I have a 4x50W radio that seems to almost not need the amp. This is weird, but one I connect just 1 position wire speaker to the wiring of the Porsche I can already hear the radio. Also, I am getting a slight feedback hissing sound. I would ideally like to route the wiring direct to the speakers since I dont think this radio needs the amp. Loren, anyone, please help me out with some suggestions. It seems as the negatives for each wire leads into one wire which then goes to the Porsche harness. This is such a weird setup. I need to run individual wiring from the radio to the front where the amp is. How do I get through the wall to run the wiring?
  18. I have the same problem with mine. RPM drop just after you start it.
  19. Ok, so does anyone have ideas on where I can purchase the controller, other than directly from Porsche?
  20. I had the same problem with my CDR-220, but mine gave an intermittent "error" message. So I sold mine and I am installing a aftermarket radio.
  21. Ok, I purchased the LCD kit, which did not work. Only one side did after they make you do major mods to the LCD casing. Not recommended in my opinion. Now my AC controller unit is not working at all. Anyone know where I can get one?
  22. Does anyone know how to remove the handle, refer to the silver part in the following thread: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=12317 I would like to respray the handle that armrest sits on. Do I need to remove the whole door panel just to do this?
  23. That looks really great. By front and rear bumpers are starting to take some wear. I was wondering, am I correct by seeing that the door handle and cover ar painted the same color as the car? If so, how did they remove those parts to spray them? I think mine need to be resprayed.
