  1. Unfortunately I have a PCM I don't know if you can help. I don't care about the NAV. My dealer is getting back to me. I hope. IDIS BE2582 SN 15009728 Siemens unit PO8160008652/01 Thanks for any help. GL
  2. If you track your car and hit 165mph you might need to get a race car or modify the stock road car you have, I would not expect stock breaks to last 25 laps getting ridden in that matter, even Porsche Turbo breaks. On the road a TT is a blast.
  3. My brother was wondering the same thing, he had driven my C4 and was telling me that it would be OK. He went for a little try of my TT while I watched his kids... An hour and ten minutes later once he came back he never mentioned non-turbo again...
  4. Had a similar problem coming out of 2001 C4 wondering between a newer C4S or TT, went with the Turbo to no regrets at all.
  5. Can someone confirms what part is sent to be reflashed. Is it 996-618-606 ? I'am considering a GIAC but change cars fairly often. Could I buy a standard ECU and change it back if I sell the car and save the re-flashed unit for the future ride.... Providing it is a 2001 to 2005 996/TT I assume. Thank's in advance for the enlightenments! G.L. Pic of the parts catalog.
  6. Welcome and good luck with your rides. Loren is a wealth of information.
  7. I think the TT is mothballed for a little while... However found a good use for the Dually..... Shoveled with it for 30 seconds and we were free to go...
  8. Had the same issue with the TT changing the Accumulator solved all... Job is max $300 Got part at Pelican parts for $110... http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopca..._Tclutc_pg5.htm Information to install as follows... Hope this helps.
  9. Item #13 is designated as the fuses going into this I imagine what I am looking for is the box between #15 & #8... #16 is the item think I found it looks like quite the job to access it, Thanks for any confirmation of location of those fuses... EDIT.....I have found the sequence for installation in the Tech Manual I purchased earlier today Pardon the post I do not know how to delete it. Thanks
  10. I am looking for the location of the "Current Distributor" in my car. I shorted something and a few electrical items stopped working after purchasing the wiring diagram I have it traced to the fuse in this "Current Distributor" box where apparently 50Amp and 80Amp fuses are located. My guess after tracing the positive lead of the battery would be above the passenger footwell on the other side of the firewall but before I spend an hour upside down doing gymnastics in my car I would love for someone to confirm the location. Thank You in advance for your help... G.L.
  11. Thank You Loren, I had found that but wanted to make positive if I was forking over $110 a couple times that I would get what I wanted...
  12. I am looking for a Wiring Diagram 996 TT My car is a 2001 but I imagine all 996TT are pretty similar. Is this available anywhere either for purchase or download. I have looked around online & on Pcar boards but have not had any luck. Also where can I find the technical books relating to this model, I think I saw some for sale around $2k and are they available in pdf or something? Thank You in advance for all your help. G.L.
  13. Looks like by the end of the week I might be out the two P-Cars currently preventing my wife from putting her car in our garage... I am contemplating the next move and have it down to the following: -2001 996 Twin Turbo or -2003 996 C4S Cars have roughly the same mileage the Turbo is a little more but within what I want to spend. I would like opinions with hopefully the reasons behind what you would choose. Thank You in advance. G.L.
  14. Pictures are from the rear wheel. Breaks are a Brembo Grand Tourismo set installed in 2003. On 2001 C4 Part # 1B1.8033A2 Front / 2C1.8007A3 Rear http://www.brembo.com/ENG/HighPerformance-...nTurismoBrakes/
  15. Here is what it looks like outside with 285/30/18's I don't know if it helps but it will give a reference. Car is a 2001 Carrera 4
  16. Here is a pic of the spacer on our rig... The clear aluminium part between the wheel and the brake. Pardon quality just took it with the phone...
  17. What I have for Part number in my 996 is; 996-424-981-15-VRJ And Hold on to yourself... it was $412 in 2003!!! Here is an iffy picture of it...
