  1. Orient, Thanks for the excellent pics. I did my Opener mod a while back but I just had the remote behind the stereo which resulted in terrible range. I finally decided to move it up to the A Pillar as you did and it was a tremendous help. Especially the last pic of the location under the pillar. At the point you set it there is plenty of room but down lower is very tight and I was wondering where the heck to put the brains for the remote. Anyway, thanks again and you have a very beautiful well kept car. :renntech: -Ernesto
  2. THANKS EVERYONE FOR SETTING THIS UP !!! No doubt the Porsche community is a great one :D Kirk, Thanks for the info I truly appreciate it! I have a wedding to attend on the 7th but it doesn't start until 1:00 or 2:00 and it's downtown so that means I will be there at 10:00 AM sharp and can hang out for about an hour or so and meet everyone before I have to head home  If it were my wedding I could hang out for a couple of hours at least  I don't think that will give me enough time for the install of the bumper so I will just have to do that another day I guess. -Ernesto
  3. Front bumper is easy enough. The side skirts for a Mk1 areokit are held in place with epoxy - that takes 24 hours to cure. So I think you should do that at home where the car can sit for at least 24 hours. That's great Loren, thanks. You can count me in depending on what day it is and thanks again to everyone for putting this together.
  4. I am very interested in the Work on Cars day. I have a 2000 996 Cabriolet. I currently have an MKI Aerokit (front bumper, side skirts) that my brother-in-law is painting for me and I would love to install that at the Work On Cars day if that is an option, if not that is OK. I would still love to go and meet some good people and help if I can. I would willing to do that at least (I've done the blinking side markers, amberectomy, garage door opener integration, LED driving lights and installed a Pioneer Avic-D3 Stereo). It all depends on the day of course. Thanks for setting this up guys it is very much appreciated :) :renntech:
  5. Hi Chuck, thanks for getting this started. I would be very interested in attending as well. I think this is a great idea and would be a lot of fun. -Ernesto
  6. I completely feel your pain! In my old place I had cats around me as well. They would jump on my cars as soon as I got home (in my driveway, on my property :censored: ). So after my car had some scratches on it I went to my neighbor and told them I was going to have exterior of my car detailed at $200 bucks and they would have to pay the bill. And if that did not remove the scratches then they would have to cover whatever costs were associated with the removal. I don't hate cats but I do hate the irresponsible owners that think their cat has access to everything around not just their property. I don't let my dog go to anyones house and take a crap on their lawn so why the hell do people let their cats jump on others property. Anyway, as it was said before, make the cat owner feel the pain via the wallet. They need to be responsible or else get rid of the animal :soapbox:
  7. Great Thread! Just this past weekend my wife and I went for a drive up to Volcano (Northern California) and we came across some nice Porsche's heading towards us...I waved (because I always do) and they all waved back!!! Loved it and my wife commented on how that was pretty cool that they all waved back :clapping: Then on the other hand, just yesterday, i was driving in Downtown and right in front of me was a very nice mid 2000 Carrera. I tried to get the guys attention (by waving) and he ignored me. We then were right next to each other (TWICE!) at a stop light and the guy would simply not look over. I was ready to compliment him on his car but now realize that he is the type of person that personifies that "Jerk with a Porsche" mentality that many people have. O well <_< I'll just keep on driving and WAVING!! So if you see a Black 2000 Cabriolet with a Latino driver driving around downtown Sacramento and that person waves...then please wave back. It might be me and I like the P Car Wave
