  1. Unless i'm missing something here, how is an intercooler going to give your more boost or spool up faster?? They are just what it says on the tin.......... a cooler. So an upgrade only will make the oil cooling more efficient etc, not improve your performance? If you run bigger turbo's you need better intercoolers to keep the oil temp around the turbo's within limits so you 'maintain' optimum performance and dont damage anything. But intercoolers alone wont give you more BHP?? AIR INTERCOOLERS, WHO IS TALKING ABOUT OIL INTERCOOLERS?????...... why do you think intercoolers would give you earlier boost? if that's what you want you should be looking at ecu flash with hybrid turbos upgraded intercoolers only help you on a hot day / during track session, if you have upgraded turbos
  2. Buy :notworthy: Forget X50, just get a UMW stage 2
  3. Does this apply to RoW cars? Also, how do I check if my front seats have already been replaced? Thanks. Ron
  4. Hi Guys.... sorry for the long delay. I've been out of town and somewhat out of the loop for a while. I'm back now and will get photos taken tomorrow. Thanks, Rob :) I followed this set of instructions I found on the web - installed it in 1 hr, quite straightforward! v-1
  5. PorschePhd on 6speed might know? He has taken apart and rebuilt a 996TT engine ..
  6. Thanks for the instructions. Would anyone happen to have pics/diagram of the layout of the engine bay? Just got my K&N today and want to DIY it over the weekend. Cheers. Ron
  7. Hi, Fine weather in Tokyo, so I figure I would do some fun driving in the countryside with my roof open and windows down. What happened was that when I am between 2000-3000rpm, there is this really nasty resonance coming from the car. This seems to happen only when my roof is open. Is this what everyone calls "droning"? Presumably getting an aftermarket exhaust would eliminate it? Cheers Ron
  8. Thanks Loren. Would you happen to know the part number for the storage tray (which replaces the ashtray) that goes with 996 552 902 00 B12? Also do you know if that completes the setup? Thanks! Ron
  9. Hi, I am trying to get a alu-look rear center console for my 2003 996TT. I have found a part with this number: 996 552 902 00 B12 but searching through this forum I found another part number: 986 552 995 09 v03 Does anyone happen to know what the difference is? Also what else do I need to complete the whole thing? Presumably: - non-smoker kit - cover for handbrake - side panel? Thanks! Ron
  10. Hi Rob, No problem at all! Take your time. I can always plug the V1 in the lighter plug for now. Ron
  11. Hi, Thanks for the info. Since I am not very experienced with this kind of stuff, some photos would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Ron
  12. Thanks for the advice, I am thinking of the EVO F-hose and diverter valves. Any experience with it?
  13. Thanks for the advice kris. I'll do it next time I take the car to the shop. And I just got the durametic software to dump out any codes, and luckily, none found
