  1. Did anyone with a faulty brake switch get a maf error code or did the abs/psm just come on ?
  2. Greig When your switch was playing up. What codes did you get ? Also is it all sorted now ? Ta
  3. Can anyone give me some tips re getting the holder off the expansion tank. I can just about get my finger tips to the plastic clip underneath the filter. I push it up towards the filter but it doesn't seem to want to come free. Is there an easier way ?
  4. Yep My mistake, the headers are the same. The x50/GT2 intercoolers are bigger though. The clutch is also uprated.
  5. The headers wont fit so you need the k24 ones. If your fitting new turbos I would change the exhaust anyway but you dont need to. The intercoolers for the k24's are larger. Would go after market with the exhaust and headers. The GT2 intercoolers will be fine.
  6. +1 normal in these cars. Been discussed lots on other forums Nothing to worry about
  7. I changed my plugs and coil packs and the car ran better. I also used the Bosch coil packs and have had no problems. The coil packs dont last forever. Bet they have a few cracks on some of them. Ask the OPC to show you them after they take them out
  8. I used to have a Subaru Impreza and when you changed the oil you would disconnect the crank sensor. You could then crank the engine over, get the oil pressure back without the engine firing up. Once the oil light went out you could reconnect the sensor. So, looking through the various articles about oil changes I haven't seen the Porsche version of this. When I last changed my oil on my 996tt, when I first started it I'm sure the engine had a different tone till the oil pressure was up. This was only for about 3 seconds. Can you crank the engine over without firing up, ie take a fuse out ? Do you need to do this on a 996TT ?
  9. I know its taken me a while but I got round to this job. I soldered the wires instead of crimping. Have driven the cars lots now since changing the switches and have had no warning lights. Easy diy
  10. Anyone know where I can buy the weather pack 3 pin plug which goes into the coil pack. The plug in the picture with an orange seal ?
  11. thought you could only get Beru coil packs for the 996TT ? On this web site I have found Bosch coil packs and they are cheaper ??? Do u think its an error on the site ? http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Porsche_...ddd7b6d94b44064
  12. Done some datalogging and found this. Appears the 02 sensor on bank 2 has no resistance? Does this confirm its faulty? O2 sensor resistance behind cat bank 1 = 0.99 to 1.00 O2 sensor voltage behind cat bank 1 = 0.88 to 0.89 O2 sensor resistance behind cat bank 2 = 0 to 0 O2 sensor voltage behind cat bank 2 = 0.69 to 0.74
