  1. My wifes 04 CS has 90K onit and the front control arm bushings are worn out. Anyone replaced the bushings instead of the arms? I'd like to install poly this time. Thanks, Scott
  2. Loren, is this something the dealer would charge you for? The car is no longer under factory warrenty. Regards, Scott
  3. Hello everyone, I found some information regarding hesitation but am looking for clarification. Today while turning left and pulling out into traffic our 04 CS hesitated. We have had our car for about 2 and a half years and this is the first time this problem has happened. Is reprogramming the fix? If so why would it take so long to surface? I have not hooked up the Durametric yet to see if any errors are present but will update this post if I find any. It did not feel like a transmission issue, it was more like no response between the throttle and the engine. I read another post that said the fix was a "air mass sensor/kickdown adaptation". Anyone have a handle on this? This is my wifes car and we have 2 year old daughter. I would hate for her to to have an accident. Regards, Scott Update: Durametric posted no errors.
  4. Yes, valve body for hard shifting. Had it replaced on our 04 CS. No hard shifting for over a year now. Regards, Scott
  5. I installed a after market HID kit. After about 6 months my lights started inconsistantly not turning on. Finaly found that by turning on/off the fog lights (pulling the switch out and pressing back in) I could get the lights to turn on every time. It's almost like the contact in the switch is faulty. Sometimes I have to try several times to get the lights to turn on and it acts like the crisper the fog lights turn off the better chances my lights turn on. Not sure if you are having a similar issue or not, just thought I'd share. Regards, Scott
  6. My car acted the same as yours. My wife said the car was stalling and then ran fine. Then later when we filled the gas tank the car started stalling again and we had it towed to a shop. turned out to be a fuel pump. I guess there are two fuel pumps in the car ( why i don't know ). Regards, Scott
  7. Loren, according to the invoice the ATF was replaced along with a new filter and valve body by the dealership. The car had 67K miles on it at the time and now has 85K on it. Is the valve boby and the pressure switch all one assembly? I wonder if the parts and service are under warrenty. At the time when we had the dealer replace the valve body the car had really hard shifts but posted no errors on the dash. This time the car is shifting fine but has posted the p0841 error. Regards, Scott
  8. At 60k miles the Transmission was serviced by the dealer for a faulty vaulve body when the trans was making hard shifts. I assume the trans fluid would have been changed during this time. Scott
  9. My 04 CS has posted a CEL P0841. Had it checked at a Autozone store. They said it had something to do with the transmission (pressure switch??). My transmission has been working fine. Car has about 80k miles on it. Disconected the battery and error does not clear. Any ideals anyone? Do I need a Duremetric to clear this? Thanks, Scott
  10. Our 04 S had the same problem. Dealer replaced the valve guide assembly in the transmission. Regards, Scott
  11. Well I installed the Hawk ceramic pads after hearing the feedback. Thanks for everyones input. So far the pads are working out good.
  12. My 04 Cayenne S is due for new brakes in the front. I'm wondering if anyone has tried something different other then OEM pads. The OEM ones are messy. Thanks, Scott
  13. Revjim99, your problem sound identcal to my wifes 04 CS. The build date was nov 04. She started noticing hard shifting at freeway speeds (55-70 mph) Most of the time it happened while the car was downshifting to perform a passing manuver. Sometimes it was real bad. Took the car to the dealer and they ended up replacing the valve boby for the transmission. Total cost was about $2000.00 usd. Good luck!
  14. I reciently installed a HID kit that Vertex sells for the Boxster. I ordered the 6000K super white kit. The install was pretty easy and the results are FANTASTIC! The lights look like the high end euro's and the performance is as good as ANY lights out there. Also, the lights look like they belong on the car. Originaly I did this install on the Boxster and I was very happy but when I did it on my wifes Cayenne I must say I was jelous. The kits run for about $250 on Ebay and come with a 1 year warrenty. Just do a serch for Boxster HID. Hope this helps. Regards, Scott
  15. RFM, thank you for your response. I would assume this "big insert bolt" is located on the top side of the transmission and to access it is from under the car? Thank you, Scott
  16. Hi, any one know how you check the fluid level for the transmission on a 04 Cayenne S? I'm having hard shifts while on the freeway. I'm at 64k miles and no warenty left. :o Please help!!!!!! Thanks, Scott
  17. Could simply be a slightly loose swaybar droplink mount. Check that the droplink is torqued correctly on the swaybar. You can find how to do that here: http://gwl.rmsolo.org/hacks/suspension/index.html To answer your original question, yes you can simply swap struts left to right, they are identical. Good Luck, Graeme Graeme, Thanks for your resonse. I'll check the swaybar first. Scott
  18. I bought my 03 S a few years back and there has been a clunk noise in the drivers side front end sinse day one. It hapens at low speeds when making a right hand turn over small bumps. I have to hit the bump with my driver side wheel. 2 shops have looked at it and both found nothing. The battery is bolted down and so is the spare wheel. Maby its a bad shock? Could I swap the two fronts (left to right and right to left)? Has any one else seen this problem? Thanks for any help you can offer. :)
  19. Does any one know what the hi and low pressures sould be on the AC system for a 04 Boster S? Thanks in advance.
  20. Burfieldstuff, are those the stock speakers that are in the rear sub? Or are they aftermarket?
  21. Hi, I have a 03 Boxster that originaly had the m490 option w/ the cdr23 deck. I replaced everything with a 2001 Bose system including the hu for a cdr220. The bose amp was actualy two amps. One was normal size that fed the dash and door speakers, the other amp rode piggy back and was much smaller. This smaller amp fed the rear sub assembly consisting of 4 speakers and was rated at 100 w. Hope this helps.
