  1. Hello, first, thanks for the reply. I checked the software version and here's what I found: PCM... Target: 05395BD1/4505 05024ED1/4705 Actual: 05395BD1/4505 Entered: Yes Found: Yes Systems Software... Target: 05462AD1/4605 04514BD1/5104 Actual: 05462AD1/4605 Entered: Yes Found: Yes Navigation System... Target: / Actual: 00179434/0606 00179412/5004 Entered: Yes Found: Yes I noticed that the 'Target' info is missing for the Navigation System. Does that mean something? Thanks in advance. I made an appt with my local Porsche dealer this week so hopefully I will get this thing resolved. Posted my values next to yours. Hope it helps. FWIW I used to like my Porsche NAV system after this weekend in N. Ga I will be using my Portable Garmin in the Future. It is much better. I did not have a Target value for the Nav system also.
  2. Mu 2006 has the following; 04.2005 997.642.257.02 7L3.919.859.AC It came out of another car on the floor as my car didn't have one either. I bought my car used with 5,000 miles on it from the dealer in 06.
  3. I have PS2's on my C2S and think they are great especially compared to the Pirrelli's(305 PS2's on the rear stock rims). I have Contis on the S4 and I don't like them at all. It is a lease car which will be turned in. If I was going to keep it I would put PS2's on it. The conti's are noisier and don't track well especially on grooved roads. 960's on my A3 good compromise tire. Quiet, decent ride and handling plus they are supposed to be good for 45K. I would consider them on my 911 if I drove it everyday for the improved mileage.
  4. My thoughts, 1. RSS Plenum 2. Headers. X-51, E-bay, AWE, etc I think anything is better than Stock. 3. X-51 Air Box etc 4. High Flow Cats 5. Software GIAC, REVO, FVD, APR etc 6. Muffler - My preference Remus if you want more noise Fabspeed, TUBI, AWE, PSE, etc I have done 1 and 2 as funds come in the rest will be done. At this point I am Very Happy with the increased power on the Butt Dyno and the significant improvement in throttle response. Actually before I do any further mods I will most likely go to the Porsche Driving school to learn how to drive better.
  5. Do you know what sarcasm is? Read the whole post. The “those stupid Germans” comment was a sarcastic comment meaning that if the builders of the best engineered cars in the world need to go through all they do with the X51 kit to gain 26 hp how does a shop in California get an additional 27 hp from a 6” piece of pipe? I am of German ancestry with a German surname, worked for German car companies for 35 years (VW, Porsche and BMW) so back off. The comment was in no way meant as condescending to Germans. Thanks for the dyno graphs on the Caymen S but last I saw this was the 997 forum and my references have been exclusively to what the RSS plenum does for the 997S. I still want to see a dyno showing a 27 hp gain. If I meant it snide or sarcastically I would have left the smiles off. I meant it very tongue and cheek, in the same vane as your stupid German comment. I just don't get it.
  6. well i finished my install , of the x51 intake and the headers. the alternator removal was a pain, it just would not come out, but once again the forum helped me out, the bushing on the alternator gets rusted, so it wont budge, but few bang with the hammer on the bolt it loosened up the bushing an the alternator came righ out. oil filler pipe swap was a breeze. just be patient. impresse witht the results, car now has a better throttle respones, and slightly quicker. next is the 20 mm euro sports supsension. I have assembled all the suspension outside the car, just have to swap it now. How difficult is it to accurately cut the hole in the hood?
  7. Recently I changed my headers on the C2S. One of the Header Pipes at the manifold was pure Black the others 5 were mostly gray with a little black. The dealer without looking at the headers but talking to a mechanic says this is not a problem if it is running OK. Should I pursue this further by asking to talk to a Porsche rep? It is obvious to me one cylinder is running very rich or I have an oil problem(ring or valve stem seal)
  8. If no one responds with the part #'s you can look and the at the link below and find the x-51 parts. http://www.boardwalkag.com/catalog/catalogue_content_en.htm
  9. If money is not an issue go with the X-51. It is not easily replicated in the aftermarket. The intake starting at the a/f to the engine is different. The heads are different too, but I am not sure exactly how. I believe I read they are ported and polished. Get the X-51 then change the cats and Muffler and you could probably add another 10-15HP. If I was ordering and money was not the issue it is the way I would go. Check out the parts catalog to determine the differences for yourself. http://www.boardwalkag.com/catalog/catalogue_content_en.htm
  10. This is a never ending question at this point for me. Everything I have read leads in different directions. I was heading AWE's way. Now I am not sure. Talked to the folks at APR this weekend at Barbers during a DE. Bought their software for my A3 and really like it. They claim their headers, cats, muffler, BMC a/f and software are good for 43HP. Billy Boat mfgs their headers and mufflers. The cats come from Germany - 200 CEL. They claim they are quieter than an AWE but louder then Miltek. Remus is another option to consider as are the guys who make the RSS plenums they are going to be impoting a system from Germany last I heard. I have the plenum and am vbery happy with the improvement. I am seriousily considering X-51 headers, someones cats and the stock muffler to see how it works. I think the main bang for the buck comes from the cats and the headers in that order and I don't really want a loud system. Good luck.
  11. I look forward to the pictures. Part numbers would be great too! Is the Air cleaner the same ?
  12. I think you only need these if you have Ceramic Brakes. I do and they did not come with my car. Part # is 999 571 07 430 I bought two and think they were around $10-$15 a piece.
