  1. At what range of mileage does the MAF usually fail? During the last couple of weeks my 2000 Boxster S started to "hesitate" (not sure of the correct term to describe it) at around 1500-2000rpm, even when the engine has warmed up. I'm not sure if there are any changes at high rpms as I don't get much chance to use that rev range in traffic which is where I spend most of the time with the car. So after doing a bit of reading on here I assume it must be the MAF, either dirty or "failed"? Bought the car at 38k miles, it has 45k miles on clock now and the last service was 2k miles ago. I have never cleaned the MAF before. Does this sound like a MAF problem? Are there anything else I should look at? Also what is a fair price for a new MAF? Appreciate any help. ^^^Forgot to mention, car just had a new battery replacement 3 weeks ago.
  2. What's the exhaust size on a stock Cayenne Turbo? Manifolds, catalytic converters, pipes and muffler sizes? I tried searching but couldn't find the answer. Thanks
  3. ^^I would like to know too. This NHP exhaust on ebay which the seller claims 'no Cabin Drone, unlike most aftermarket Mufflers for the Boxster the NHP Exhaust Muffler for the Boxster eliminates Cabin Drone.' Looking at the design of this particular muffler its very similar to most other ebay mufflers for the Boxster and apparently ALL of them do DRONE
  4. H&R makes sway bars for the Boxster, 26mm front/ fixed, 22mm rear/ adjustable. I'm currently looking at getting a pair of these front and rear. http://hrsprings.com/scripts/appguide.php?...E%20|%20Boxster An off topic question: Anyone knows the size of the factory sway bars?
  5. Did you try a Search? Replacing the Sim card tray in a PCM2 Thanks for link. Sorry I tried search but was obviously not very good at it. Please delete this thread mods.
  6. The sim card slot won't slide back in place when pushed, I think it needs to be replaced. Is't a DIY job? If so, what part/s do I need to get? And what's the replacing procedure? Thank you for any help.
  7. Is there such a thing as a no drone aftermarket muffler? If so, please advice where I can source one? Also, for anyone has experience with one of those ebay modified factory Boxster mufflers, how loud are they? And are there any cabin drones between 2500-3000rpm? Here is a link to the aforementioned ebay modified factory muffler: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Porsche-Boxster-986...les_CarParts_SM Thanks for any inputs.
  8. Great. Thanks for confirming that. Any comments on whether the aftermarket ECU flash needed to be redone or not?
  9. Thanks I think you maybe right, the ignition switch does feel a bit funny. Would replacing the ignition switch solve all of the problems mentioned above? Another question Loren since you are the expert here, would I need to get the Giac flash re done after this battery replacement? Thanks again.
  10. Two more problems I've found. 1, radio does not turn off when pulling the key out of ignition. 2, my aftermarket xenon main beams do not work anymore. But the city lights are fine. Appreciate any help guys
  11. After replacing the car battery, the remote door lock does not work anymore. When tried to manually lock with the key, it only locks the driver's side door. But it does lock with the central locking button from inside the car. What would be the problem do you think? Thanks for any suggestions. By the way, the car has a Giac flash and has cat bypass pipes. It's an Australian model so only had one pair of cats instead two (like the US models), when I first replaced these cats the engine warning light did not come on and it has been fine ever since. Don't know if this info changes anything. Appreciate any help guys.
  12. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=64125 Does that apply to Cayenne Turbo as well? I thought they have bigger rotors than the S?
  13. Anyone? How do I tell if the rotors need replacing? I've been told that the rotors usually last twice as long as pads?
  14. How do I determine the condition of the rotors? I'm not experienced with this kind of things. I assume the dealer would suggest to replace them as well regardless of the condition.
  15. So the "brake pads workshop" warning light went on, time to change the pads. Question is should I change the rotors too or is it unnecessary at this mileage?
  16. I am planning to get some H&R sway bars and want to know if they will affect the car's ride quality for daily driving? I understand they won't make as much difference as coilovers but by how much? Thanks
  17. I've an 04 CTT (Australia) and I can only see one set of cats underneath the car. Where are the secondary cats? Or does Australia have different versions to the US?
  18. Guys after reading this thread http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1227 I'm having doubts regarding 2nd bypass for the TT, maybe muffler is the best bet?
  19. Thanks for sharing that. Saved me from spending $600 on lossing torque.
  20. I have an 03 Cayenne Turbo and would like to actually hear the V8, it's very much muted from the factory. What would you recommend? Mufflers? Catback? Cat bypasses? or full exhaust replacement? Please specify the brand. Appreciate any your input :)
  21. Sweet wheels man  Wish I had 18x11 at the rear (18x9 with 265s now) first thing I would do is throw on a set of 285s, would look tough from the back but I understand your hesitation. Post some shots of your car when its done :D
