  1. You don't need a new door latch, and there is no need to pay a dealer $750 if you don't mind a little DIY or if you can take it to an indie. The minor annoyance is that Porsche only sells the microswitch that is inside the door lock assembly as a unit with the complete assembly and does not sell the microswitch (which is most likely your problem) by itself. There have been reports here of obtaining the microswitch from an outside source, but nothing concrete that I have been able to nail down. Could you explain more clearly what you mean by "the window rolls down". Are you saying it rolls all the way down or just goes down about 1/2 of an inch and then goes back up, causing the window glass to hit the roof frame when you close the door? Taht will clear up whether it's a window regulator issue or that third microswitch (i.e., not the inner door handle microswitch or the outer door handle microswitch). Regards, Maurice. Maurice, The window rolls down half an inch normally when the door is open but in my case the window rolls down half an inch then rolls right back to where it was unless I hold the door handle open. Which switch do I need and do you have part numbers? Also, can you provide the link to the DIY for doing this repair. I couldn't find it when I did a search. Thanks, JT
  2. Hi guys, I pulled out my seat last week, turned on the car and tripped my airbag light and now the window won't stay down when i open the passenger side door. Before I order the microswitch I wanted to ask you or Loren if the seat and door microswitch are related somehow. Maybe i didn't plug the seat connectors back in all the way? Any ideas? It just seems to coincidental the microswitch failed at the same time the airbag light came on. The passneger side window rolls down when I open the door from either the inside or outside door handle but then immediately rolls back up. If I hold the handles down it will stay down. Any ideas? When I had the airbag light reset the dealer took a look at door and said I need a new door latch, 750.00 dollars total repair. Do I really need a door latch? Thanks for your help in advance. I have seen all the posts about this but most people say to replace the regulator. This is most likely the microswitch, right? Can I just replace that or do I have to replace the entire door handle?

  4. Hey guys, did anyone ever nail down the paint codes or if Eric at bumper plugs was able to help?
  5. I want to replace it. My rear carpet is faded and has some issing fibers that are pretty noticeable. Maybe the previous owner was moving stuff in it. :( I have a replacement i got from the dismantler but i have no clue how remove the old one.
  6. I was searching through the forums and I couldn't find any DIY or instructions on how to remove the rear carpet? Is it increadibly easy to do or something simple to get the carpet off? I would appreciate any help. Thank guys...
  7. Hey guys, did anyone ever find an answer to the graphite grey interior color? My interior is all dinged up and I would like to repaint if possible but I don't know how to match the color.
  8. Hey guys, my calipers are shot and the paint has rubbed off on some corners. Do you know what the exact paint color or code is for Porsche Red calipers. Also maybe there is a paint manufacturer that matches pretty well I can just buy it off the shelf somewhere? I am thinking about painting them just as you guys have but want to match the factory red color as best as possible.
  9. Loren, I just checked out this post and it seems like your might be on to something. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...nterlock+switch Just wondering is their an easy way to bypass the switch for testing purposes?
  10. I was going to check that next but is there a procedure for doing so on the forum, in my initial search i couldn't find one.
  11. Hey Loren, Wondering if you can shed some light on why my TT delays starting. I turn the key and nothing happens, clutch depressed etc. Let my foot of the pedal turn the key back and then repeat starting procedure. Can do this three or four times before the car actually starts. Sometimes If i hold the key long enough in the start position it may start. Aside from being really annoying there seems to be a definite problem here. Already replaced ignition switch with a complete steering lock assembly and replaced the starter. I thought that would take care of it but it didn't seem to. Any ideas?
  12. Hey guys, Anyone ever seen a problem where the starter spins but doesn't turn the engine over? I can get the car to start when i roll the car a little, then the starter fully engages and the car turns over and starts. It is very intermittent. Tends to happen when the car is sitting for 4 or more hours. When the car is warm it usually starts fine. I was thinking it was starter problem but then looking through the forums and saw people have all sorts of problems with starting, cluth pedal switch, ignition switch, battery etc. I then remebered there are times when the car starting is delayed several seconds after turn the key and have the clutch pedal depressed. I have also had problems with the battery but then replaced withe a red top Optima battery. Is there a basic order I should go about trying to figure this intermittent problem out? Also, does anyone have a DIY article or diagram on how to replace the starter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JT
  13. I too wanted to know how do you replace the cluster... Is there any instructions on the forum that you could point me too? Thanks, JT
  14. Hi Loren, I know you have a lot of posts requesting this but I was wondering if you could look up my radio code too. I am new to posting. 2001 911 TT Becker 1 type 4362 # W5002400 01/99 Thanks, JT
