  1. If you can hear the washer motor, let someone operate the stalk and look in the battery area, probably a water valve leak you can press the valve back together
  2. Items 12 and 13 are cooling water hoses.
  3. @ Tool Pants The Boxster engines M96/23 and M96/24 2003 have no longer the plastic tubes and have nothing to do with variocam plus. You can check it in PET 7, this engines have other cylinder heads than the previous ones and other coils. The difference in coils is essentially the pipes that have an other design.
  4. What i mean is that the connectors are straight on top ( 12 hour ), those with plastic tubes are inclined ( 01 hour ) and cylinder 4 is the most difficult to set. Some small details are changed, the AOS is changed and a more resistant rubber tube for the leaking bellows, fuel system etc.
  5. The side walls of the N coded tires are stiffer than the same size, same brand non N coded tyres. Try this out in your tyre store, take only the tyre not a complete wheel. The N coded tyres are the perfect match with the European suspension ( harder ), i don't no what the impact is with the US suspension ( softer ).
  6. The outside trim on the C pillar is the most difficult, you have to remove the plastic top trim, the side trims and the windows to do the job good and invisible.
  7. mother The + cable is situated in the small + box on the right side next the throttle body, the small cable coming from the dash is in the two major connectors on the right side of the engine room. There is no ground cable screwed on the alternator.
  8. You are right, engines where the coils are mounted strait up and two camshaft sensors on the right side have no longer plastic tubes.
  9. Looks like the fabric stop and the spring is removed to open the lid completely. Is the lid hold by Velcro on the back to stay open while driving?

  11. In normal circumstances this message is shown when the car is stand stil, the selector in each possition except P and ignition OFF. Since the ignition switch is no longer a ordinary switch but one or more control boxes it is advisable to visit the dealer. Take a look if all the systems are working correctly, get in the car-push the key in the switch-you can hear the steering wheel lock/unlock, switch on the ignition and push the brake pedal with the selector in P possition-you can hear the selector lock/unlock-take the N or R possition and switch off the ignition, the message is now shown in the display and it is NOT possible to pull out the key. I don't no if the previous owner have done modifications.
  12. I give it a try with 4 wheels coming from the same type of car with approved N coded tyres if i was you, simple, cheap and efficient solution.
  13. I dont no what the charge is in the US, it takes approx. 1 hour to check/tip up the level and a test drive done by a mechanic. After the run they can tell you the result of there findings, in cases like this it is to difficult to give a solution without seeing and driving the car.
  14. There is one inspection/filling hole in the aluminium housing of the Z.F. differential, you can open it with an alan key, you have to fill till the oil comes out this is the filling level. If it is too difficult go to the dealer or independent.
  15. In general lifters dont chirping, it's rather ticking.
  16. The smell of transmission oil in combination with this kind of noise makes me nervous, if i was you i would take a look A.S.A.P.
  17. If the noise is still there go to the dealer, there are more possibilities for this sort of noises, release bearing etc. Success.
  18. Check the differential oil level on the tiptronic, can be a small leak on the seal of the transmission axle left or right. I hope it's not to late.

In the beginning yes, you can do the following steps: top up the steering fluid level to be sure do a test drive til the noise is there remove the air box and the belt let the engine running without the belt for MAX. 1 MINUTE ( the engine can overheat ) if the noise is gone check by hand which roller or pulley is the cause if the noise is still there go to the dealer COUTION: the engine runs without air box/MAF sensor a engine check will occur, clear the code.

  21. There are a lot of 997 with chirping serpentine belt rollers, only cars with man. gearboxes, they have plastic rollers. The ones with tiptronic have metal rollers without issues.
  22. The hard topshell is alluminium.
  23. Can be a question of resistance or consumption in extreme temperatures like you said.
  24. The fog lamps in the back are o.k. ? If yes reinstall the original lamps and trey again, i don't believe that an O.P.C. will start working on non original items.
  25. Are you sure that the push rod between the slave cylinder and the clutch fork have still his plastic top?
