  1. Has anyone done a do it yourself aluminum or otherwise dash and interior kit. I am looking to update my 996 with the aluminium and it's either buy the dealer kit $$$$$ or get the peal and stick which im not to thrilled with the idea of. Anyone know where I can get the right kit for low $$$ and offer any insight? Joe
  2. Thanks for all your input, The car did have a manual, I rather ask people with experience. It certainly helps.
  3. Just got my 1999 996, needs an oil change, can someone just let me know what the interval is?
  4. Yeah!!!! Just got my very first 911 - 1999 996. I have encountered the following issue. Has anyone experienced a problem where when you start the car the climate control fan will not operate unless you turn the key back just a bit?
  5. Thanks for the excellent feedback, very grateful.
  6. I am seriously considering a 1996 993. I am having a pre inspection of the car completed, however I wanted to ask the forum for any other things I should look out for, based on the 1996 993. What should I consider, It is a high milage car, however, seems to be in good shape, Clutch has been replaced. No service records though, car is off a lease. Any information would be greatfully appreciated.
  7. Thanks, please anyone else with more?
  8. I am currently shopping 911's. I have found that I am targeting 78's or 87-91. What do I need to know about the differences in the years to find the best one. Is it better ot go to a 90 or 91 over an 87-89? Anything particular I should look for? ANy help is really appreciated.
  9. Loren, Any Idea if they will be able to retrofit into 04 Cayenne's PCM? Joe
  10. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats correct, If i burn to CD format no issue, however, only the 18 - 20 songs, I was looking for the 100+ songs you can get on an MP3 disk like i have in my aftermarket player in my Camaro.
  11. For that price it should be a lot better. An after market system would be better and under $1000.
  12. Your able to play Mp3's in the changer or the main drive in the PCM? Can you provide model # of your player? Regards, Joe
  13. I followed the procedure and it was great, Thanks so much, the look is really sweet, pictures do not do the change justice. If you have a Cayenne and have not done this yet, you owe it to yourself to do it. Thanks Again ESK!!
  14. Thanks Mudman excellent advice and point. I will need to revisit the manual.
  15. Can someone explain to me the remote, i never recieved one with my CS. I have the PCM etc.
  16. Does anyone know if Porsche will enable MP3 in the PCM or the changer?, still waiting to find out if there will be an after factory add on for the XM radio also. Regards Joe
  17. IS anyone having the issue where when first starting off in the morning my CS has begun to start off in D1 even with PSM on, then after a while it starts off in D2?
  18. Please let me know if that takes care of the issue. My dealer's next step was to replace the motor.
  19. Does anyone tip their Service manager? What is appropriate if so?
  20. Has anyone had a problem with the auto up feature on the Cayenne drivers window? Was finally able to demonstrate the issue to the dealer, problem resolution without any repair is to hold buttun on window up for about 5 seconds after window has finised closing, this will reset the motor and then auto up will work for the duration of having the vehicle in operation. The technician stated they could change the motor? Thoughts?
  21. Can you tell me if there will be any more decals for sale on EBAY or personally. Currently I cannot find any new auctions and really want to get one for my Cayenne S. Regards Joe
  22. Was this Cayenne S or Turbo specific. Can you describe more of what the issue is in greater detail so I can be on the look out for it. Regards joe
  23. Steve, I myself had had the same issue with the radio stations. Make sure you are on the correct memory list first. If not use the dial to "list" the stations. You should see the names refresh. I am also looking to install the XM or Sirius satellite radio. I even have a post up for information. Congrats on your new Turbo.:clapping:
